“What’s that supposed to mean?” I ask him.
“We’re due for a talk, man. I’ll stop by tomorrow.”
I stand still as Cal pats me on the shoulder, grabs Kodi’s purse, and guides her toward the exit doors to leave.
What the hell was that? Does he know something?
I planned to show Navy how I felt tonight, but I did a terrible job hiding it from Cal. I’m almost positive he knows.
My best friend knows I’m in love with his sister.

NAVY
This might bethe kindest thing anyone has ever done for me.
It seems simple and small—but the gesture is great.
I could have suffered through aching feet just fine after the gala, but I don’t have to because Bodhi thought of me.
He thought of my comfort and packed me a girl bag to show for it.
My heart is bursting at the seams, waving a white flag to our tense history and saying fuck it.
I’d like to have him and be happy now.
But there is one thing I somehow keep forgetting about, even after the hot and intense kiss Bodhi and I shared—Crew.
He doesn’t deserve this.
Although I’m not cheating, given we never made anything official between us, it was obvious we were seeing each other.
I owe him a conversation, and I’m already dreading it.
Since most of the group we came here with left in the limo a while ago, Bodhi called us an Uber home.
I can’t stop staring at my feet. He even picked out my silly socks with baseballs all over them. The gesture is adorable, and I wonder when he had the time to do this.
“Did you pick this out on your own?” I motion at my outfit.
The difference between us now is obvious. Bodhi is still in his frosting-covered suit, looking like he got caught in a bakery crossfire.
Adorable.
He nods. “I did. It helped that Penelope was here to distract you.”
How in the hell did I not notice? Bodhi packed my favorite lavender sweatpant set, baseball socks, slippers, makeup remover wipes, a claw clip, and deodorant.
“I’m impressed, catcher. You know me well.”
He grins, leaning forward to plant a soft kiss on my forehead and humming at a low volume, “Mhm, it feels good to do that without talking myself out of it.”
Bodhi’s large hand finds my thigh and he looks at me comically. “I’d put my arm around you but…you know, frosting.I’m pretty sure it’s up my nose at this point.”
I can’t contain my giggle.
He continues to surprise me.
