“Inside me,” she ordered. “Now. I need you inside me.”
He positioned himself and eased into her, and she wrapped her legs around him. He moved slowly at first, then faster and harder. Suddenly he put one finger on her clitoris and pressed, and she came again, wrapping herself around him, her cries echoing in the room.
He followed her over, his face buried in her neck, sucking on her skin.
He collapsed on top of her, but immediately flipped her so she was lying on top of him. His breath shuddered in and out as he ran his hands down her back, over and over. She wanted to burrow into his skin. Absorb the essence of Jameson. She was breathing too fast, and so was he.
Finally her breathing eased. She pressed her face into his neck. Tasted the salt on his skin and wrapped her arms around him.
They lay together for a long time, their breathing in sync, gradually slowing. He slid his hands down to her ass and squeezed. Turned his head and kissed her, his mouth lingering on hers.
His kisses were gentle. Tender. As if he was worshiping her. Imprinting himself on her body. Her heart.
Everything inside her softened at his tenderness. His care. She wanted to burrow into Jameson and stay there.
But she knew that was a pipe dream. He was her job. She was his protector. And when the case was over, she’d go back to Montana.
Before she let him see her sadness, he said, “That wasn’t exactly what I’d pictured as our first time.”
“Yeah?” she said. “What were you expecting?”
“I had no idea you’d wake me up with my cock in your mouth. No idea that we would be so perfect together. So in sync.” He ran his hand down her back and over her ass again. “God, Bree, that was amazing. Indescribable. So, so hot.” He brushed his mouth over hers. “I’m so glad you made the first move. Took the initiative.”
“You told me I’d have to do that if I wanted you. And I did, but I was nervous. Wary. I’ve never slept with one of my protectees before. Never wanted to. I was afraid it would change things. Make it more difficult to protect you.
“But I’ve wanted you since that first night, when I had to throw you on the floor so many times. You were so stubborn. So sure you could beat me. Until you admitted I was better than you, even though I was so much smaller than you. That made me want you even more.”
“Are we going to talk about this?” he asked, his hands tightening on her, as if to keep her close to him.
“Yeah, we need to do that. But not right now,” she said. “Right now, I want to start over with you wide awake.”
“So this wasn’t a one-off?” he asked
“Not unless you want it to be.” She stroked down his side. “I want you even more now than I did before we destroyed this bed.”
He lifted his head, saw the sheet and duvet on the floor, noticed the bottom sheet was pulled away from the headboard.
“How about we move this fun to the shower?” He nuzzled her neck. Sucked on her ear. “The shower in here is plenty big enough for fun and games.”
She nuzzled his neck, then lifted her head to smile at him, and it felt as if the sun came out. “Sounds good to me,” Bree said.
They stayed in the shower for a long time, using the drumming of the water against the marble to absorb their cries. When the water turned cold, they stepped out of the shower enclosure, unable to tear their gaze away from each other. Unable to stop touching each other. They used the fluffy white towels, then wrapped themselves in the robes hanging in the closet.
“I’m going to order breakfast,” Jameson said. “What do you want?”
“An omelet. Bacon. Breakfast potatoes. Coffee.” She lifted onto her toes and kissed him, lingering until he scooped her up and held her against him.
“I need to refuel,” she said, her hand on his chest. “I have a busy day planned for us.”
“Yeah?” he asked. “Where are we going?”
She grinned at him. “We’re not leaving this suite.”
Chapter 25
The knock came softly at the hotel room door on Sunday morning. Jameson pressed a kiss to Bree’s mouth and whispered, “All good things must come to an end.”
She pulled his head down and kissed him back. “No, they’re just postponed. You invited Theo here for breakfast, so let me go answer the damn door. If you don’t, he’s going to know what we’re doing in here.”
