“Not right now. I’m not moving in for another couple of days, and he doesn’t want it in the house before then,” she replied.
It was more like she hadn’t talked to her brother about when she was actually moving in. She had talked about next weekend, but Sammi didn’t know if she would be able to pack everything and get it moved by then.
She did have a lot of things in her guest room that she was going to sell. There were bits and pieces that she hadn’t touched in years or didn’t really need. It would make for easy cash but also fewer things to move into her brother’s house.
It wasn’t ideal that she was moving in with him. Even though both of them loved each other, they just hadn’t lived together in several years, and she knew it was going to be a bit of a struggle. He didn’t know she was a Little, which was going to make her life even harder than it was already.
Thankfully, he knew that she had diabetes and had actually grabbed some low-carb foods for her at his house. Everyone that knew she had type 1 had been researching the right food to eat. It made her realize how much some people actually cared for her. That one extra person at her work who Daddy told probably didn’t care that much, but she knew that Nolan and Ezekiel did. Or she hoped they did.
“If that changes, you let me know, and I’ll grab some of the guys with their trucks and help you move.” Daddy kissed her lips.
She moaned and leaned into his touch, wanting more, but Daddy pulled away. She blinked at Daddy several times before sagging her shoulders.
“More?” she practically begged.
Daddy smiled. “Maybe later. Do you need help packing more, or can we go get food?”
“Go get food,” Sammi declared, knowing her packing could wait a couple of hours.
CHAPTER TWENTY
SAMMI
“Where are we going?” Sammi asked as they continued down the road.
“To a small restaurant. You’ll love it, don’t worry.” Daddy took hold of her hand as he turned onto a street.
“What about the food?”
She knew that the more carb-dense a meal was, the more she was going to have to watch her blood sugar afterward. She still hadn’t got it under control, understanding how much insulin to take before she ate and how long before she ate she needed to take it. She hadn’t taken anything before this meal, and she was a little worried.
“I’ve made sure that this restaurant has food that you would be able to eat on short notice. Are we going to have to take some insulin? Probably a little, but we’re going to watch your blood sugar after. I promise. I won’t just give you food and then leave you high and dry to figure out the rest afterward. You are mine, and I’m going to take care of you.” Daddy pulled her hand to his mouth and gave it a little kiss.
Sammi relaxed against the seat. She should have known that Daddy would have looked into that before. He had done it so many times that it became normal now, and yet she still had to ask.
It was just the paranoia and uncertainty in her. She was still worried about her diabetes and how to manage it properly. She wanted to live, but she was constantly thinking about what she had to do and what she didn’t have to do.
It was getting exhausting, and she had to deal with this for the rest of her life.
Daddy pulled into a parking spot in front of a small restaurant she had never heard of before. Daddy let go of her hand, and she waited as he got out of the car and walked over to her side. Sammi couldn’t lie, every single time he opened a door for her, her heart raced and butterflies flipped in her stomach.
Daddy really cared for her, and she loved that about him. Her whole body froze as Daddy opened the door.
She loved him.
She really, truly loved him.
“What’s wrong?” Daddy asked, concern flashing across his face.
“Nothing.” She pasted a smile on her face.
She knew they already told each other they love each other but this was different. She felt it in her bones that she loved him. Would Daddy feel weird if she told him again that she loved him like it was the first time? Would she have to explain? When would the right moment be? Would he feel the same? There were so many questions she needed to think about before she told him again.
She figured once she told him she loved him he would want her to move into his house but he didn’t. He didn’t demand it. Though, he had already asked her several times to move in with him. She would move in with him in a heartbeat, but she knew it would be harder to go see Deccan for the payments, and she needed to get rid of that problem first. Maybe that should be when she told Daddy she truly loved him and that she wanted to move in with him.
Sadly, Sammi didn’t know how long that was going to take, but hopefully, it wasn’t too long. She didn’t want to wait much longer.
“You can tell me anything. I’m here for you.” Daddy quickly kissed her before helping her out of his truck.
