HADLEY
I wake up alone, and frown, until I see the note on the bed beside me.
Good morning,
There’s coffee in the kitchen. Help yourself. I’ll be back in a few minutes with clothing for you.
Massimo
There were no sweet words, but still, I smile to myself, because he signed Massimo, instead of Psycho. Walking out of the bedroom, and into the living room of the hotel room, I gasp as my eyes widen.Tell me you’re loaded, without telling me you’re loaded, Massimo.
Directly in front of me is a large living space, with a black ‘L’ shaped sofa, a matching chaise lounge off to the side, a fireplace built into the wall on the other side, and massive floor-to-ceiling windows. To the left is the door to the hotel room, and further to the left is a kitchen, complete with black appliances, and a gold sink. Stepping over to the window, I look out at the amazing skyline, taking it in, while making a mental note to see this tonight, because I know it’ll be amazing at night with all the lights.
A hand grips the back of my neck, as I’m shoved against the glass, and his body pushes against my back, as a low growl escapes from his throat, making me gasp.
“You belong to me, little lamb. Mine. I will not tolerate you showing it off to all of New York City.”
Grabbing my shoulders, he spins me around, and his eyes immediately drop to my breasts before continuing downward, sweeping my body, making my skin heat, like he’s touching me.
“My eyes are up here, Massimo.”
His gaze snaps to mine, the intensity making my skin heat up further, as if I’m standing in front of an inferno.
“I will not tell you again. This is mine, and I will kill any man that sees you like this. Any fucking questions?”
Forcing my back to straighten, I place my hands on my hips, and reflect the same glare he’s giving me.
“Is it just the two personalities you have? Or are there others that will show themselves?”
His eyes flash with amusement, as the corner of his lips lift into the smallest of smirks.
“I suggest you put clothes on this delicious body. My control is limited, and you’re fucking testing it.”
Rolling my eyes at him, I move around him, my body brushing up against his, as I go to grab the bag of clothing at his feet. Shivers run down my back like a bolt of electricity.
“Stupid hot jackass,” I blurt out, as I take the bag and all but run back to the bedroom.
I throw the bag onto the bed with a huff. Reaching in, I pull out a pair of jeans, and a black t-shirt that has my eyebrows raising.
It has a logo on it, with a large ‘B’ appearing like there are wings carrying it away, and the other letters ‘o-n-e-t-t-i’ making me gasp.
Bonetti Luxury Hotel.
How did I not know they own hotels? They probably have hotels as a legitimate business to launder funds. I let out a long breath, and tell my brain to let it go, but my lawyer mind won’t stop turning, even though I’d never do anything with it. Not now. If I had known his father didn’t kill mine, I never would have.
Grabbing a pair of black lacy panties, and a matching bra from the bag, I spot a box of medication. I grab it with curiosity, and my stomach drops when I see what it is.
The morning-after pill.
After I am dressed, I take the box, storm out to Massimo, and throw it at him.
“I’m not taking this.”
He jerks his chin to the glass of water on the counter.
“Yes, you are.”
I pick up the glass of water, as a glint of satisfaction shows in his eyes, and down the entire glass, before slamming it on the counter.
