Stilling for just a few seconds he kissed her again, savoring the flavor of her pleasure as she gasped for breath. “There’s a lot more where that came from,” he promised her. “Even if it will have to be after the first time.”
“I don’t care,” she muttered against his lips. “Do it again, but this time when I come, so do you.”
Just hearing those words fall from her lips made his legs start shaking. That was how badly he wanted her – how much strength and control it took not to just take her hard until he found his release.
No, he wanted her to remember this first time. He wanted it to be a rose-tinted memory for the rest of her life.
So he started up slowly, sliding in and out with each deep breath, savoring the way Chiara clenched around him every time his nub pressed against her. When her nails dug into his shoulders again Roman knew she was close.
He held her gaze and sped up, feeling the pleasure like water against a dam. When he finally found his release Roman feared it would never end – not with how tight and delicious she was around him.
But she’d promised him all afternoon.
It hit him so fast and so hard Roman saw stars. Chiara screamed and she clamped around him so tightly he thought she might never release him. But it triggered a tidal wave. Roman roared as it washed through him.
Every drop of seed was milked from him and it felt so good it nearly hurt.
When his senses finally came back he nearly collapsed on top of Chiara, laughing as his arms trembled. “For not allowing me to use my full potential, you certainly still managed to get what you wanted.”
Chiara chuckled and ran her hand over his scalp before trailing those claws gently over his talon. “Well, I certainly see why Adelina made sure to marry Kaiden the second she was able to.”
Roman snorted at that. “As long as I pleased you.” He rolled over onto his back and pulled her with him so she could lie on his chest. Draping his wings over either side of the bed he breathed her scent in deep. The last thing he wanted to do right then was let go of Chiara
Still pulsing inside of her, Roman took a moment to relax and reevaluate. Were things different now?
Strangely, they were and they weren’t. He felt closer to her than ever before thanks to the tightness of the bond and its new strength. But he didn’t instantly feel in love with her. Their feelings were different. Affection and trust and respect…it was a very healthy foundation for love to grow.
“Are you doing all right?” he asked, stroking her back.
Chiara was silent for a moment, but it didn’t worry him. Roman could feel her thinking even if he didn’t know what her thoughts were. “I feel as I normally do,” she said. “But I also feel like I have a new center of gravity.”
His hand stilled as he considered what that could mean. “Oh?”
“Everything is the same, but I’m drawn to you without even thinking about it,” she murmured against his chest. “You are my new center and I’m quite pleased about it being the only major change. I know I will love you as deeply as my mother loved my father – as deeply as she loved me. It is a very comforting thing to know.”
Roman wrapped his arms around her and then his wings. “I will love you for the rest of my days, Chiara. Every single part of you.”
Her quiet sigh of happiness would be imprinted upon his memory forever.
“I promised you all afternoon,” he murmured into her hair. “Are you up for it?”
Chiara chuckled. “I can’t believe you never softened.”
Grinning he lifted up her chin and kissed her slow and languorously. “One of the few benefits to being Drakesthai.”
Her amber-red eyes sparkled when she smiled. “Show me all of them.”
