Out of everything she’d thought she’d be doing here – that had been the last thing she’d thought would happen. But Chiara was also glad. She couldn’t remember feeling as…fulfilled, in all aspects of her life, as she did now.

She didn’t have just her work to look forward to now.

Chiara had a future with a male that she wanted to build a life with. That was something she’d never thought she would have.

The other four males were supposed to be arriving any minute now as well as Gabe with her breakfast. Chiara wasn’t keen on eating in the dining room with everyone else. There was too much noise for her.

A knock on her door interrupted the notes she was working on, but she’d been expecting this. “Please, come in.”

A Drakesthai male who looked vaguely familiar bowed slightly to her. “I heard you were beginning to cure people. I was wondering if I could volunteer for the next round?”

Annoyed at the intrusion she just stared at this male, contemplating what to do. “Fine, sit down and tell me your name so I can pull up your tests. You’ve had them done, haven’t you?” Turning back to her desk she pulled up the database and waited for him to give her his name.

“I haven’t actually,” he said, much closer than before.

Chiara whipped around to see him standing right behind her. She reached for the medpack Gia had given her as suspicion rose, but she was too slow. The male had her in a chokehold faster than she could blink.

She beat on his arms, forgetting every bit of training she’d had over the last few months as her body demanded oxygen and she couldn’t deliver.

Then everything went black.
