“So, you can stay in the guest room down the hall and on the left. That’s where our sister Laurie usually stays so it won’t seem strange.” Cooper pointed out the room and then walked over to the table pushed up against the wall with decanters of dark liquids. He poured himself a glass and turned back to me. “Shall we get started?”

I cleared my throat and sat my bag down on the ground. “Well, who wants to give me a clear picture of your sister? Laurie was it?”

“Oooh, I will!” Duke stepped up to me and looped his thumbs through his jean’s belt loop.

“Okay, have a seat.” I gestured to a nearby cream colored chair. Everything was clean here. “Now, relax.” I stepped up to Duke and placed my hands on either side of his head. “Think of Laurie. What does she look like? What does she sound like? And finally, what does she smell like?”

I focused my magic onto what the wolf beneath my hands was thinking, trying to put together a clear picture of what their sister looked like. Tall, blue eyed, blonde with curvy hips and a moderate sized chest. I focused on the small details. The freckles across her shoulders. The way her brows arched. Her voice was a low smoky timber that any of the girls back at the club would envy. I breathed in, smelling the scent of lavender and coconut oil mixed with the fragrance of the woods they ran through every full moon.

When I opened my eyes, I peered down at Duke from a new height and three wolves sucked in a breath of surprise.

“Hello, brothers. Where’ve you been?”

“Wow, it’s so…” Duke trailed off, standing from the chair so he could see me from every angle, “…weird.” he glanced at his brothers and frowned. “I don’t know if I like this. It’s Laurie but… not, you know?”

Cooper inclined his head and walked toward me, his assessing eyes not missing a thing. “She does look like Laurie, though, Laurie would never be caught dead in such commoners clothing.”

I snarled at him.

Jax chuckled. “She even has Laurie’s growl down.”

Cooper moved in closer and sniffed the air around me. I tried my best to stay relaxed as he came in close, sliding his nose into my hair and along my neck. “How do you even smell exactly like her?”

“Well, I had a job where I had to trick some vampires into thinking I was their girlfriend and they said I needed to work on my glamour to work on smells too. So, I spent the last year working on it. Glad to know all that work has paid off.” I placed my hands on my hips with a proud smirk.

“I agree on the clothes, Coop,” Jax gestured to my outfit. “We have to do something about what she’s wearing. No one will believe she’s Laurie in that outfit.”

I scoffed and glared at the wolf. “I’ll have you know, I have plenty of nice outfits but I don’t wear them to jobs. I learned my lesson the hard way.” Lost plenty of nice clothes changing into someone else and popping a seam.

“Either way, I’ll go over to Laurie’s and get somethings,” Duke stated and scratched the back of his ear. “Ummm, I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but we have to have lunch with our parents tomorrow.”

“Good,” Cooper jerked his head once. “It will be a good test of her abilities. If she can’t fool our parents then she won’t be able to fool anyone else.”

I didn’t like the way Cooper said that. Why would he pay me so much money if he didn’t trust me to do the job?

“Well, if we aren’t starting until tomorrow then I’m going to save my magic.” I let the glamour go and shrank back down to my five foot five size.

“How long can you hold a glamour for?” Cooper inquired as the others headed for the front door of the penthouse.

I shrugged a shoulder, “I think the longest I’ve held it for was three days. It’s harder to hold it longer than that without draining my powers completely. If I rest it while I’m sleeping then I can replenish it at night and then I’ll be good to go all day.”

Cooper sipped from his glass. “Very well. Good night.”

“Uh…night.” I grabbed my bag from the ground and walked to the bedroom. I could feel Cooper’s eyes on my back the whole way there. I tried not to let that get to me as I opened the door. I allowed myself to peek over at the wolf from beneath my lashes.

Cooper had turned his back on me and went over to the large windows covering the living room walls. From the back I could see how his shoulders stiffened. His ear twitched and he shifted slightly as if he could sense me watching him.

I hurried into the bedroom and shut the door behind me. What had I gotten myself into?

Ispun around in the mirror, checking out the clothes that Duke had brought me to wear. The sleek form fitting pale pink dress really brought out the figure of their sister and I would be lying if I wasn’t jealous of her ass.

“How does it fit?” Jax asked, stepping into the guest room without knocking.

Turning from the mirror, I grinned at him. “It fits great! I feel just like Cinderella. Well, Stripperella.”

Jax walked up behind me and skimmed his gaze over my form. “You do look like you would belong at our table. However…”
