I glanced up at Luka’s face and burst into a fit of giggles.

“One word. Heathen,” Luka replied seriously, which only made me laugh harder.

“Do demons have a fetish for mud play?” Leif frowned, not understanding. “Actually, don’t answer that. I’d rather not know what kinky shit you are doing with my sister.”

“Noted,” Luka said, his lips curving slightly into a smirk.

“So, changing the subject, Belladonna is all set up, nice and cosy in the dungeon. I’ve enchanted her cell so no one will get in or out unless they are you two, me or Grandpapi. Grandpapi is staying down there to protect the shield over her so she can’t use any of her magic to attempt an escape or whatever. But you are going to need to think about a more permanent solution.” Leif raised his eyebrows at me suggestively.

“Oh, I know. I already plan on doing that today,” I answered with a wicked smile.

“How?” Luka asked.

“I’m going to cut off her hands. Witches cannot wield magic without their hands.”

Leif shuddered dramatically, shaking his whole face. He hugged his hands protectively under his armpits. “That gives me the heebie-jeebies.”

Luka groaned, shaking his head, which caused Leif and me to question what was wrong.

“Heathen has a stupid question to ask, Leif.”

“Go for it. I love stupid questions.” Leif grinned.

“He wants to know what would be worse for you, having your hands cut off or your dick.”

Leif visibly paled. I smirked.

“That is the hardest question I have ever been asked in my entire life,” Leif whispered, looking thoroughly shaken. “Dick. No, hands. No, dick. Shit. They both produce magic. It’s an impossible choice.”

“You are an idiot,” I said, walking past him and climbing the stairs. “Did you set up the screens in the dungeons like I asked?”

“Yeah,” Leif answered, still deep in thought. “Wait. Luka? Why did Heathen want to know that?”

Luka’s slow smile was full of dangerous teasing and Leif swallowed. “He was just curious.”

“Look, I know I am an Anderson by blood but—”

“Your hands and your dick are safe from us,” Luka interrupted him quickly and Leif puffed out a breath through his lips.

“Well, that’s a relief. And by the way, I have just extracted the summoning spell from Belladonna’s mind, so I can summon Hana’s demon tonight and Ronnie can give his soul to her and break the spell.”

“Good.” Luka nodded. “Thanks. You’ll be the first Anderson I am indebted to.”

“No need for that. I am just righting the wrongs of my ancestors,” Leif said with a smile. “You can just buy me a beer one day soon. Brother to brother.”

“Okay.” Luka nodded and Leif walked away before he twirled around and slammed his hand to his head. “Oh fuck. I forgot. I’m sober now. Three days and going strong. Maybe a coke instead?”

“Sounds good,” Luka answered, as I failed to hide my surprise at Leif’s confession.

“Wait? You’re giving up drinking?”

“Yeah. You know me, sis. I have an addictive personality. And I don’t need to rely on that shit to make me feel better. Best I stay away from it altogether.”

“Wow. Okay. Good for you. I’m proud of you, Leif.” He blew me a kiss and turned back away. “Oh, Neve is looking for you.”

“I know! I am hiding from her!”

“You can’t hide from her forever.”
