“What do you want?” I snapped.

“Marlowe, I’m sorry. I wanted to give you space but this is an emergency.” He rushed towards me and grabbed my hand. “We need to go. NOW.”

My mind raced with horrible possibilities. I hadn’t felt anything through my bonds with the rest of the pack, but I’d been so flooded and busy with my own strong emotions, I hadn’t really been paying attention. “Oh my god, are they hurt?”

“No.”

We rushed out the door and back outside the building, weaving in and out of the people walking down the halls.

Once we got to the parking lot I slowed down, figuring we’d head towards his truck, but he ran right past it, pulling me along and heading straight to the woods on the southeast corner.

“Cam!” I yelled, already spent. I really hated running. “Where are we going? What’s going on?”

He turned around briefly and threw me over his shoulder, ignoring my yelp. “We need to stop the pack. They shifted and they’re headed right this way.”

Shifted? It was hard to speak from my position and the way I jostled around from Cam trying to run through the snow. “But that’s a good thing. Why are you upset?”

He finally stopped once we reached a little further into the trees. “Think about it – you first shifted when you were upset. Elias first shifted when he was upset.”

Damn, why hadn’t I thought of this yesterday? Cam was so much smarter than we all gave him credit for. “But what are they upset about?”

He sighed, tilting his head and giving me a knowing look.

“Oh.”

He closed his eyes, nodding as the realization hit me. Then he leaned down and took a deep whiff of my sweater and cursed under his breath. “Yeah, and when they show up and smell a non-pack alpha on you, they’re going to hunt Julian down and tear him apart.”

I winced. Even if I wasn’t Julian’s biggest fan at the moment, he certainly didn’t deserve that. And as much as Elias and Nolan didn’t want a new pack mate, I didn’t think they’d feel great if they killed Julian, either.

“You have to shift,” Cam said. “Stop them, let them know you’re okay.”

I looked in the direction they’d be coming from, but so far it was quiet. “It’s not that easy. I’ve only shifted twice – once was completely by surprise, and the other was when my wolf wanted to. I’ve never summoned her on my own.”

Cam’s eyes were pleading, his hands gripping my shoulders. “Babe, please try.”

I closed my eyes, trying to coax my wolf out.Hey girl, your boys are coming. Don’t you want to say hi?

Her ears perked up, and her tail began to wag.

“Ugh, fine, but you need to hold my clothes and cover me.” There was no way I was destroying this outfit. I took everything off as quickly as I could, mentally leading my wolf into the forefront of my mind so I could shift as soon as I was naked. Once I handed Cam my tights, underwear, and bra, I opened the gate and let her through.

MIKE

Grace stood behind Jen in the shower, holding up one of her legs to give me better access to Jen’s cunt.

The water was hot, washing away the rivulet of blood from the bite on Jen’s neck.

Her breathy moans echoed in the bathroom, driving me closer to my climax. I was about to come, her tight cunt clenched around me, until Grace reached around to run her hand down my chest.

The past couple of days had soured me on her completely. She had been desperate for my attention and praise, yet I could only look at her with contempt. Any sympathy I had attempted to drum up turned to disgust at the thought of her thinking she could replace Marlowe in my bed, my life.

My heart.

The feeling of her touch softened my erection, and I hissed. “Dammit, Grace, what did I tell you?”

Her cheeks heated and she looked down in shame. “Sorry.”
