“You got meanothergift?” she asks with wide, excited eyes.

“Well, not so much Igotyou something as I’m going togiveyou something.”

I wink, and she folds her arms over her perfect chest. “Your dick is my gift, isn’t it?”

“You seemed extremely excited about my dick the other day,” I scoff, and a tinge of pink rushes up her neck to her cheeks.

“Well, you better at least wrap a damn bow around it.”

I wink at her as Sage pops up next to us. “Are you gonna drop and suck his cock right here in the bar or can we get this fucking party started?” Sophia’s mouth falls open, and she shoots back the cutest death glare I’ve ever seen. “What?” Sage holds her hands up in defense. “Just saying what the rest of us are thinking.”

“Alright, time for tequila shots,” Theo says, turning from the bar and handing me and Sophia a glass.

Once we’ve all got a shot, Theo gestures for me to say something. I glance over at Sophia with a wide smile spread across my face. “To the sexist koala in the zoo. Happy birthday.”

“Happy birthday!” Everyone cheers, and we knock back our shots.

We’re at the next bar on the itinerary, and I’m discussing our shitty loss with Noah while watching Sophia across the crowded room chatting with her friends. A feeling of relief comes over me, knowing I can finally show her how much I care without all the mind games. Two guys come up behind them, and Charlie practically tackles one before sucking his face like an octopus.

“Who thefuckis that?” Noah grumbles next to me.

“Apparently Charlie’s boyfriend.”

The other guy, who’s bigger than a Mack truck, places his hand on Sophia’s lower back, then bends down and says something in her ear.

“Who the hell isthatguy?” I say, mirroring Noah as my jaw clenches.

He doesn’t remove his hand, and she doesn’t shake him off. She looks up at him, and I can’t tell if she wants to kiss him or cry.

“Apparently, you have some competition,” Noah quips.

“Bullshit.” I make a beeline for the bar and a girl runs into me, spilling her drink all over my exposed stomach. The cool liquid glides down to the hem of my shorts.

“Oh my God, I’m so—” Her gaze falls to my rippled abs, and her mouth drops open.

“It’s fine,” I say as I continue towards the bar, but Sophia’s vanished, and so has the mystery guy.

There’s no way she would cheat on me in the first week of dating. Okay, well, we aren’tofficiallyanything but… We’re together.

I mean, I’m not seeing anyone else…fuck.

Now I’m regretting not coming right out with the “are we exclusive” talk, which is a talk I haveneverhad and never even wanted to have—until Sophia.

Where the fuck did she go?

I make it to the bar, where Charlie is still wrapped around the other mystery guy.

“Hey, Charlie,” I say, tapping her shoulder to get her attention.

“Elijah, hey!” she says, with a wide smile plastered on her tipsy face. The guy glances down at my hand on her shoulder, then back to me. “This is Jonathan, my boyfriend.”

“Hey, nice to meet you.” I remove my hand and offer it to him, which he accepts.

“Hey,” he replies, and I return my attention to Charlie.

“Where’s Soph?”
