They’ve rarely ever come into the diner before. Why now?
Are you really asking yourself that? As if you don’t know why they’re here suddenly.
I don’t know what I’m allowed to do or what I’m supposed to know regarding the Skull now.
Do I admit I know them? Do I say hi? Pretend they don’t exist? Can I kick them out?
Those last two are super fucking tempting.
“Never mind.” I change my mind and wave them off. “You can take it.”
Her look of annoyance changes to excitement when I try to pass them off on her. Toni will flirt with anything that breathes. It’s no wonder she’d want to wait on them.
Do you want to let her wait on your man like that?
“No,” I try leaving, but Blade’s voice stops me in my tracks. “I want her.”
Blade nods in my direction, speaking to Toni. With a renewed look of annoyance, she drops the menus on the nearest table and walks away. I don’t move as the three of them take their seats. Hopefully, I can feed them and get them the hell out of here in record time.
Letting out a stress-filled breath, I stand up straight and approach their table with a fake smile.
“What are youdoinghere?” I ask him in a hushed voice.
“What? I can’t grab some grub?”
“No.”I snap. Turning to Cap and Hawk, I offer them a nervous smile.
I’m grateful that it’s the two of them with Blade. Out of the bunch of them, these guys seem the least scary.
“Hi again, can I get you guys something to drink?”
“Coffee,” Hawk says at the same time that Cap says, “I’ll take a Coke.”
“I’ll be right back to take your order,” I tell them.
“What about me?” Blade asks.
“You get nothing.” I narrow my eyes at him before I walk away.
“I like her,” I hear one of them say as I go, and I can’t keep the smirk off of my face.
I grab a mug for coffee and a cup from the rack. When the drinks are poured, I carry them out to their table. I see Toni standing up against the wall as I head back into the dining room. She shoots me a death stare and mutters, “whore”, as I pass her.
I roll my eyes and keep walking.
If she only knew.
Elena stands next to her, appearing very interested in the guys.
Great, is she going to go after them now, too?
I place their drinks down and wipe the condensation off of my hands with my apron.
“What can I get you guys?” I ask, hoping they already know so I can get them their food and send them on their way.
“We’re not sure just yet. Can we have a few more minutes?” Hawk answers.
“Sure,” I smile.
