How do they know this fucker isn’t playing for them now? He could have told them all that we’re meeting here, and they could be gearing up for an ambush.
“My daughter, Maggie, was taken a couple days before Sasha. He confirmed they’re both there, but they’re not in good shape.”
“Youmotherfucker,” I see red and charge the tall son of a bitch.
Stone steps forward at the same time as Hawk and Cap grab hold of my arms, stopping me from pummeling this asshole.
“He was part of it,” I shout at Stone.
I’m so furious, even I don’t recognize the evil tone my voice has taken on.
“He wasn’t, Blade. Back down.Now.”
“You heard what he said,” I growl. “She’s in bad shape, Stone.”
Angry, scared tears prick the surface of my eyes. My body suddenly feels weighed down by heartbreak, causing my knees to shake almost to the point of buckling beneath me.
“I know. I know, son. But Crew is innocent in this. He’s been helping to try to rescue Maggie, and he just saw Sasha for the first time last night. He called as soon as he realized who she was.”
Wait a minute.
“Did Royce call you last night and tell you she was there?” My anger begins to overshadow my broken heart.
He doesn’t have to answer. The guilty look on his face says everything.
“You son of a bitch.”
I can’t breathe. Cap and Hawk have to hold me back from laying Stone out. He’s known she was there since last night, and he didn’t tell me.
“We needed to know that everyone was in first. If I would have told you, you’d have tried going after her alone and gotten yourself killed.”
Every word he said is 100 percent true, but it doesn’t make me want to punch him any less.
“Come on, man. Save your fight and your anger for Death’s Road,” Cap urges me.
I can’t stop glaring violently at Stone. I’ve never been this angry with him. With anyone.
“Blade,” Cap sternly repeats my name, finally breaking my gaze.
My eyes shoot daggers at Crew before I fall back into line with everyone else.
“Their clubhouse is deep in a span of woods just off of route one-sixteen near White Run. There’s a road that runs behind it, Low Dutch. They have a couple patrols along there. Prospects. Most of which aren’t very bright. All brawn and no brains.”
Like you.
“The best place to park will be near the end of Gregg Avenue, and we’ll walk to the clubhouse from there. We can split up along the way. Divide and conquer.”
“What about once we infiltrate the clubhouse?” Cap asks.
“They’ve been partying pretty hard the past two days. I’m not saying it’s going to be a cakewalk, however I don’t think they’re going to be on their toes either. But they’re very hostile drinkers. Don’t underestimate them.” His eyes scan the crowd of us, making sure we heed his warning appropriately. “The plan is shoot to kill. No survivors. No prisoners. The women affiliated with this club are just as ruthless and unforgiving as the men.”
“There aren’t any children in there?” Hawk asks.
“There aren’t. No one in the club has any kids.”
“Where are the girls?” I ask, my voice dripping with contempt.
That’s the only goal I have in mind.
