He speaks again as he begins to run his fingers up and down my arm, forcing goose bumps to the surface.
“I didn’t mean to listen in on your conversation, but when I came looking for you, I overheard what you said. I didn’t take in to consideration that you may already have plans this weekend. I’m sorry about that.”
“It’s okay, I can go to lunch with Shelby any time.”
“I know you can. As much as I want you all to myself, I don’t want to come between you two, either.”
“That’s sweet of you.”
I lean my head back so I’m looking up at him. He peers down at me before pressing his lips to mine again.
“Where were you planning on going?”
“I don’t know for sure. We were going to go shopping and have lunch somewhere. Why?”
“Just curious. And you mentioned something about tomorrow night?”
“Yeah, Shelby said her, Reed, and whoever else are going to Bar 2-1-2 and maybe to a club after that. She invited us.”
“We can go if you want to go.”
I sit up and turn toward him so we’re face-to-face.
“Aren’t you worried someone is going to see us together?”
“It’s a concern, yes. But we can cross that bridge when we get to it. I don’t want to miss out on anything because we need to hide what we have from anyone. I want it all with you, Chloe. The last thing I want is to have an office romance. However, I can't imagine not spending all day with you again. I don't want to be that cliche, but I also don't want to leave your side.”
I want to say something, but I can’t speak through the big, goofy smile on my face.
“As stupid as this sounds, I think we should go all in until we get caught. If and when that time comes, then we can tell people you’re quitting so we can be together.”
My smile drops slightly at the thought of leaving Okeanós.
“What’s wrong?” he asks me.
“It’s silly, considering I was preparing for interviews with other companies when you walked through the lobby last Friday.”
He hits me with a look of disapproval.
“I cancelled them, don’t worry,” I laugh. “I want both, too. I don’t want to leave the company, but I also don’t want to stop seeing you. I don’t know if we’re meant to be, but I’d like to see how it plays out.”
Leaning forward, he pulls me in for another kiss. I can feel the heat building within me again as his tongue dances with mine.
Seriously? Haven’t you had your fill yet?
When he pulls away from me, I immediately miss his lips.
“How about this? Call Shelby back, and ask if you can move your girl’s day to tomorrow. Enjoy the day—on me. Ivan will drive you girls wherever you want to go. Shopping, lunch. Hell, hit up the spa if you want to. I really do have to finish reviewing the semiannual report, so I’ll do that while you’re out. Go home, get ready, and I’ll meet you at the bar tomorrow night.”
The big, goofy grin is back on my face at his generosity and desire for me to keep my promise to Shelby.
“Are you sure?” I question.
“Well, I was going to have you entertain me while I work on the report tomorrow, but there will be plenty more opportunities for that in the future.”
Saliva pours into my mouth at the thought of sitting under his desk, sucking off one of the most powerful men I’ve ever met while he runs his empire. My eyes go wide, and my breath quickens.
“Only one stipulation.” He cocks his eyebrow as the side of his mouth rises the way I like.
