“Well, good.”

Turning, I peered out the window at the sweeping view, feeling small against the dramatic backdrop of skyscrapers.

“Still there?” he asked darkly.

“Yes.”

“How does your clit feel?”

I let out a protracted sigh. “Oh, well, you know.”

“Say it.”

“Nice.” I dragged my teeth over my bottom lip. “Thank you for my punishment, sir.”

“There’s more.”

“More?”

“This morning’s behavior was unacceptable.”

“I can explain.”

“Don’t interrupt.”

I waited for his response.

“No guards this morning, Mia? No security escort? Do you have any idea of the danger you exposed yourself to?”

My eyelids closed as I realized this also served as a punishment. Only, this was a completely different kind of exposure.

He hung up.

I placed my phone down and stared at it, wondering what else he had in mind. With a clenched jaw and a tingly core I tried to inhale through the ripples. For goodness sake, I had a full day ahead of me and climaxing at my desk was most inconvenient—I had to hold back despite being edged right to the precipice with thoughts of Cole burning up my brain.

This was the mother of all punishments and again a reminder of how much pissing off Cole was a mistake.

My gaze swept over the top of my cubicle and settled on Dana’s office.

Oh, God.

I was late for my meeting with her. I grabbed the file from my desk and hurried toward her office. The diamonds tugged and my clit stood erect in response. I glanced down at my skirt to make sure nothing could be seen, though my sex sensed every move.

Reassured, I knocked on her open door. “I have the file.” I waved it and gave a cheery smile.

“Come in, Mia.”

“Thank you.” I felt as naked as hell.

“Everything okay?” Her stare roamed down to my shoes, a pair I shouldn’t have been able to afford on my salary. Or maybe that frown was directed at my inked hummingbird; the one with exquisite blues and greens.

I still loved it.

“Yes,” I replied confidently. “How are you?”

Her eyes snapped up to mine. “You seem a little breathless.”

“I’m fine.”
