Soft lighting enhanced the quiet atmosphere of the spa. As I stripped out of my suit and hung it in a locker, I questioned the wisdom of getting naked. Should any of my clubs have discovered a trespasser, the fucker would’ve been dealt with aggressively. I was not only risking my safety but also my reputation.
I paused briefly to quench my thirst with a quick drink of lemon water, and then threw the cup in the trash. Passing through another doorway, I strolled naked toward the spa. For me, this was as daring as it got these days.
Shay was alone in the enormous spa pool, leaning back against the tile with merely his head out of the water as steam rose around him. He flinched when he saw me, those dark eyes closing in exasperation.
“Nice place.” I descended the blue tiled steps and waded toward him.
“You tracked the car?”
“Just like you taught me.”
He opened his eyes and rolled them at me.
“Am I paying you too much, Gardner?”
“This is what a half million dollar relocation bonus looks like.” He arched a brow. “Thanks for that, by the way.”
Great, his bonus had been spent on this place. It had been meant for a deposit on a loft.
I settled in next to him, enjoying the warmth soaking into my bones. “Why didn’t you tell me you’d become a member?”
“‘Cause we don’t do this.”
I felt relieved that this was his secret instead of him looking for a new job, or carrying out corporate espionage. This was Shay exploring his deviant side—and he’d chosen an elite club to do it in.
“You’re in good company.” I arched a brow. “Damon Spellman’s currently getting his dick sucked.”
“And you know this how?”
“Their coding system on the guest list.”
“You worked out their coding system? You’re too smart for your own good.”
“I wish.”
“So you know why I’m here?” He tilted his head, as though waiting to see if I’d figured that out, too.
“I could have referred you, Shay. To someone I trust. Someone who’d push your limits and make you feel safe.”
“Fuck.” He shook his head. “Do I have no secrets?”
This morning I’d placed him right into the center of an erotic scene and it had brought him straight here. Split the truth wide open. I was glad I’d followed him. Shay looked nervous as hell, and that always brought out his arrogant side. He’d be in trouble with an unseasoned Dom who wanted to whip the petulance out of him after misinterpreting his attitude as smugness.
“How is he? Any good?”
Shay swallowed hard.
“This is your first session with a Dom?”
“Seriously?”
“How well do I know you?”
“You can’t do this.” He looked frustrated. “Insert yourself into my life like this.”
Yet when I’d walked in I’d seen relief wash over his face. “I’m assuming you’re not hard for your Dom yet?” I asked him, my tone playful.
“Jesus, Cam, back off.”
