“New guy?” he asked.
“A woman.”
His brows shot up. “Oh, well she’s lucky. Want to tell me about her?”
The ice had melted in my glass. I sipped the diluted liquor and mulled over what was safe to share. “It’s early.”
“Bring her over for dinner. I’m staying at Hotel Bel Air.”
“Bel Air?”
He pressed his tongue into his check. “Yeah, you can expect a visit from me at Chrysalis. Stone’s throw away.”
“I’ll give you a tour if you want one.”
He smirked. “I have a lifetime ban.”
“Cole’s not there anymore.” I smiled. “I mean Cameron.”
“I’m sure he’d love that…me in his old stomping ground. Sneaking around and seeing what you all do.”
“Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.”
“What happened to old-fashioned gentleness with a woman?”
“We have that.”
He didn’t look convinced. “Each to his own.”
“Trust me, the women run the show.”
“Really?” He gave a nod. “Now that I’d like to see.”
“When was the last time you dated?” I asked.
“Not sure I’m cut out for…domesticity.”
“Then you’ve not found the right person.”
He downed his drink. “Come work for me.”
“I have a job.”
“I’ll double your salary.”
“I’m flattered.” I finished off my drink. “Don’t share this with Cam, but I’m thinking of leaving Enthrall. I’m ready to take CloudSource to a new level.”
“Your app? I use it every day, you know that, right? I love it.”
“I’m glad.”
“It’s great software. All my texts disappear into a secure cloud! Inaccessible to anyone, the kind of reassurance social media doesn’t provide.”
“It’s gaining traction.”
“I’ll buy shares when it’s time.”
“I appreciate that.”
