“If you ever need financial backing…”

“That’s good to know, thanks.”

“I never saw you leaving Enthrall.”

“I’ll always be available to consult.”

He raised his glass. “To CloudSource.”

I raised mine. “Here’s to risking it all.”

I needed more time, though. Taking that kind of leap was risky.

Henry gestured for the barman to bring us more drinks. “Remy Martin’s XO.”

“I’m only having one.”

Henry gave a nod and corrected the order.

Then he turned back to me. “When was the last time you saw Mia?”

“A few days ago.”

His brow furrowed. “They seem happy.”

“They are.”

“That rug rat is as cute as hell.”

“I hear you spoil him, Uncle Henry.” That made me chuckle.

Henry accepted his drink from the barman and then leaned back in the leather seat. “You got a photo of her?”

“Who?”

“The woman you’re seeing tonight.”

I fished out my phone and swiped toward the only photo I had of Rue. I’d taken a screenshot from her Instagram. She was posing at the beach beside a surfboard—though it wasn’t the time I’d caught her riding the waves at my place. It had been taken on another day. She looked tanned and windswept and so fucking pretty.

I showed her to Henry.

His expression went from being surprised to looking impressed.

“She’s just a passing…” I struggled to finish the sentence. “You know.”

Henry blinked at me like I was insane. “She’s…wow.”

Yeah, I once thought that before reason kicked in. I was just going to let her use me and when she was done, she’d be nothing but a memory.

“Is she into…?” asked Henry.

I hesitated to answer, not wanting to betray a trust.

His smiled widened. “Goddamn, if you aren’t perfect for each other.”

“We’re not even close to that level of relationship—”

He raised a finger to silence me. “Let me live vicariously through my Lieutenant, okay?”
