Which was why I’d fallen in love with this place.
He was wearing a different cologne—a combination of sex god and something earthy, like leather and ash; an intoxicating aroma.
This man was all I’d ever wanted and ever dared to dream of having.
I was going to have to watch him with another woman tonight. See him play hard.
Shay strolled over to the mirror. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black masquerade mask, securing it to his face.
I watched his reflection. This strikingly domineering man would be my guide tonight.
He turned to face me.
I followed his lead and moved over to the mirror, putting on my masquerade mask. With my titian hair, I’d probably stand out.
Maybe I’d cross paths with the other dominants from Imperial. Maybe we would see Kaison Faulkner.
“We’ll get a drink first,” he said.
“Before?”
“Before we explore.”
He meant before we see what goes on within the rooms. Within the dungeons. And all the corners where lovers like to meet.
“Your safe word?”
“Cadence.”
He twisted his mouth. “If you forget it, say stop.” He shrugged. “In case you’re in a high stress situation.”
“What kind would that be?”
“What we did at Imperial was nothing compared to what will unfold tonight.”
“Oh?”
“It’s what you want, right?”
“Is it what you want?”
His fingers reached for my mask and adjusted it. “This will be everything you want it to be.”
“Whatever pleases you, sir.”
“Right—remember to address me as Dom or Master or sir. Never use my name.”
“I’ll remember, sir.”
He reached into his pocket again and drew out a long, thin chain. He clipped it to my collar. “Ready?”
“Yes, sir.”
I’d never be ready to see him with another member.
Before our time at Imperial, we hadn’t bonded like we were now.
He opened the door and gestured for me to go ahead of him.
