“I was the only one who had the resources to rescue your sorry ass.”

“I don’t need rescuing.”

“The guy who won you invited his friends.”

She swallowed hard at that, blushing and squirming in her seat.

“Ever tell anyone about this night and I will find you,” I said.

“Is that another threat?”

“I’m a man of my word.”

“The guy who won me will be pissed off.”

“Not my problem.” I glanced over at her. “You’re a member of Majestic, right?”

Rue stared dead ahead at the road. “Are you taking me there?”

“No, you need some time to prepare for Carrie’s wrath.”

“I can do what I want, when I want.”

“I don’t disagree. It’s the venue you chose that concerns me.”

“You seemed to know your way around.” She pointed an accusatory finger at me. “Nothing shocked you there.”

“And you know this how?”

“I saw it in your eyes.”

I wasn’t in the mood to correct her. “Ever heard of discretion?”

“This was none of your business and you know nothing about me.”

“I know more than most.” I arched a brow at her trench coat and what lay beneath.

That vision of her playing with herself was an exquisite memory, if I allowed myself to replay it, which I wouldn’t. That memory belonged to her now.

I’d placed Rue into subspace for one reason alone—to have her compliant. Driving away with her proved how powerful subspace could be when used correctly.

“What’s your address?”

“I live at the end of Ellison Drive. It’s a cul-de-sac.”

“Expensive neighborhood.”

“My late father was a defense lawyer.” She looked over at me. “Had some big clients.”

The property would be worth millions in this neck of the woods.

“I’m sorry,” I said. “About your dad.”

She gave a shrug as though she was over it. I knew better.

I’d spoiled her fun and nothing I said or did would make a difference.

Rue folded her arms across her chest. “Did you like what you saw?”
