Oh, God, he’s going to see de Sade.

I opened the door. “Hey.”

He’d seemingly come straight from the office, still wearing a pristine bespoke suit with his hair neatly combed—looking so classy and well put together he could have intimidated a much younger woman.

But not me.

No matter how impressively he towered over me with that domineering stance.

He’d grown a fan base at Chrysalis, all the submissives who had interacted with him. That thought made me smile inwardly.

Henry lifted a takeout bag. “Thought you might be hungry.”

“A peace offering after what happened at Chrysalis?”

“These are.” He lifted an exquisite bouquet of pink roses.

I quirked a brow. “You’ll have to do better than that.”

“I shouldn’t have visited you at work.” He glanced at the bag. “Will poppadoms make it up to you?”

“I’m ashamed to say it will.” Gratefully, I accepted the bouquet of at least thirty roses, holding them gently in my arms.

How can I not fall for you?

“Are you going to invite me in?” he asked, frowning.

I spun around to see Jake glaring at us from the hallway.

“He’s just a friend,” I clarified.

“Bad time?” Henry wasn’t convinced.

“Your timing is perfect,” I said. “Come on in.”

Henry followed me down the hallway to the living room.

I felt self-conscious holding these flowers in front of Jake.

Henry glanced around at the décor, taking in my plush furniture and those unmistakable feminine touches I’d added to make this place feel like home.

His steely consideration summed up Jake. “There’s enough food for three.”

Though I doubt he meant it.

Jake looked annoyed. “You’re the reason she’s leaving?”

Henry gave a shrug.

I stared at Jake. “I’ve thought about becoming a traditional therapist for a while now.”

“The fuck you have,” he bit out, glaring at the flowers with distaste.

“We’ve not met.” Henry calmly offered him his hand. “I’m Henry.”

“Cameron’s brother?” Jake cringed. “Another Cole.”

“Stop it,” I said.
