“No, of course not. I love tea too much. And we’re far smarter than all of them.”

A hand tapped Cameron’s shoulder.

“We’re not done,” he told de Sade.

Carrington stood behind him, clearly pissed off. “I’m not averse to stealing her back.”

Cameron centered himself. “Do you want to dance with him, Lotte?”

Not wanting to cause a scene, I gave a nod.

Cameron faced me again. “You’re being offered great opportunities. You’re spoiled for choice. But only one will make you happy.”

Jake pulled me away from him.

Cameron walked off.

When he turned back, I gave him an apologetic glance.

“That was rude,” I told de Sade.

“Why are you not sitting with the Coles?” De Sade glowered at them. “Who the fuck is that woman sitting in your seat?”

I tried to pull away. “Dance with Rylee.”

He gripped me tighter. “She’s not here.”

“Go get drunk with your buddies.”

“That’s no way to talk to your new boss.”

The music transitioned into Neil Diamond’s “Holly Holy.”

Oh, God.

I drew in a sharp breath.

It was the same song I’d danced to with Henry at the preserve. He’d brought it up on his wristwatch after we’d showered together.

He’d chosen this, the beautiful lyrics stirring a visceral response.

“You’re shivering,” said de Sade.

“I want to go home,” I said.

“You can’t.” He pulled me in tighter. “You’re mine now.”

My heart soared when I saw Henry approach the edge of the dance floor.

I peered up at Jake. “You’ll have my answer soon.”

Effortlessly, I broke away from him and glided toward Henry’s open arms. When his hand touched mine, I felt a spark between us.

He pulled me against his chest.

“You have until tomorrow,” said de Sade, walking away.

Henry pulled me in tighter, his cologne flooding my senses, our chemistry electric. Passion ran through my bloodstream, my body weakening in his strong arms as I responded to his firm chest pressed against mine, his powerful hand squeezing mine—his masculine edge.
