He didn’t flinch as his erection grew in my hand.

“Very good,” I said calmly. “Obedience is rewarded.”

“I’m game,” said Greyson, pulling his T-shirt up and over his head.

De Sade kicked off his shoes and both men stripped naked before me.

Even Atticus finally gave in to my commands.

It was fun to watch these sophisticated gentlemen reveal their fit bodies. Women obsessed over their firm sculpted chests and taut thighs.

I sat down on one of the loungers, this time reading line by line through the contract—occasionally glancing up to savor the view of them having fun in the pool, laughing and splashing each other. Men really were still boys when it came right down to it.

I suppressed a sob when I thought ofhim.

What is it they say about alternate universes? Perhaps we were together in some other parallel existence.

Pushing up, I walked the short distance to the end of the patio. From here I could see the breathtaking view of the Los Angeles Basin, the San Fernando Valley, and even the Hollywood sign.

Cole Tower loomed large in the distance, rising tall amongst those skyscrapers. A profound reminder of what had been lost.

Fighting back tears, I replayed every interaction with Henry as though I deserved to be this tortured by precious memories.

Many good women had gone before me. Those who’d sacrificed what might have become their greatest love deserved respect. I’d gather strength from that one day.

I went back to my lounger to see this through.

I caught sight of movement at the side gate.

Oh, shit.

Cameron had found out about my meeting. I hoped he didn’t ask about Pendulum. I turned over the contract and set the pen down.

Cameron approached, dressed casually in jeans and a T-shirt, looking dashing in designer sunglasses as he strode confidently toward me.

My old boss tucked his hands into his pockets and wandered around the pool, throwing a friendly nod to the guys.

They didn’t seem concerned.

Mouth dry, I suddenly saw wisdom in having drinks here.

Cameron came over to where I sat and examined the bottle of champagne, his expression showing approval of the vintage.

Fascinated, I watched him pour bubbly into all the glasses like he’d been invited to the party. I prayed de Sade didn’t suspect me of inviting him here.

Cameron offered me a crystal flute.

I accepted the drink and set it down on the side table, not ready to celebrate until he left.

Cameron lifted a glass himself and took a sip. “Very nice.”

“I’m guessing the scandal hit the news,” I said quickly.

“You’re not usually this temperamental.”

“I’m not usually a hazard.”

“Let’s talk about that.”
