Staying away from her wasn’t possible, though.
Greyson continued to text away. He’d not invited Amelia as his plus one. He was clearly messaging her. I’d never seen him this stricken.
Over there on the ornate outside dining table, Greyson and I had shared Amelia, had fucked her senseless. Maybe that was the night he’d fallen for her.
He peered up from texting and followed my line of sight over to the table. Then he let out a disgruntled huff.
I had to suppress a mischievous smirk.
Grantchester was one of the most interesting men I knew. Misunderstood and seriously complicated, his childhood had been fraught. The guy had been ignored by his parents and reared by nannies. It had made him eccentric. Most people didn’t have sympathy for a billionaire with mommy issues, but we adored the bastard.
“Stop staring at me like that,” he said, peering up from his phone.
“Am I boring you?”
“I’m making sure she’s okay. You could learn a thing or two.”
This time I let the smirk show. “You might as well have invited her.”
He shrugged. “She’s not your biggest fan.”
“I caught her sharing details of your personal life.”
“I had ‘the talk.’”
Feeling devilish, I once again stared at the dining table. The piece of furniture was a decorative reminder of a wild day that had turned into a wilder night.
He tucked his phone into his pocket. “You have no moral compass.”
“My dick is my compass.”
“Truer words were never spoken.”
“Says the kinkiest guy I know.”
“I’m serious, I like her. Back off.”
Amelia had to be authentically his, because if she wasn’t, whoever set her up with Greyson was going to regret it.
They’d be right at the top of my “list.”
Across from us, Jake continued seriously debating something with Cameron as they gazed at the skyline. Jake looked pensive.
Something was up with them.
“What do you think they’re talking about?” asked Greyson, who was just as curious.
“You, probably.”
“More likely you.” He jabbed a finger at me. “Jake told me you found the notorious sixth floor.”
I met his gaze. “Don’t tell anyone it was Stella who found it with me. Puts her at risk.”
“Of course. Heard you stayed up there after you sent Stella down.”
“Briefly.”
“What did you see?”
