“Good.” I sat my cigar down then pressed a button to page my house maid Hollen.

“The women here are much more beautiful than the ones I have back home.” He confessed.

Impurity looked around my study like it was foreign, a tight sneer that I knew was a smile stretched his tight semi wrinkled, ashened brown face.

“I don’t cage them, nor do I keep them by force, Impurity. Let your women roam and they will start looking more appealing.” I winked at him.

“You don’t know what I do anymore, you haven’t came to visit me in Arkville for close to a year now since I told you about your monstrous guard snooping around my estate. I know he freed one of my women, he still has to answer for that.” He pointed his black covered index finger my way.

We both paused from talking when Hollen walked in. She smelled just like Angel, I shut my eyes for a few seconds to savor the way that she smelled. There was no denying how sick in the head I was to buy the same soft vanilla scent that Angel wore for all the women walking around my house. They wore the same perfume but it didn’t hit like it did when I was in the same space as Angel. Every part of her smelled good, her own body scent added to the soft vanilla perfume she wore so this would suffice enough.

“Your signature drinks, sir.” Hollen bowed her head before sitting the glass tray down.

Hollen was short and curvy; she was very submissive and quiet for the most part. She came every day to do her job then leave at her assigned time. She was the only woman that I hadn’t touched that worked for me. Not saying I couldn’t have Hollen, I just didn’t want her. I put her in charge over the other two housemaids that rotated shifts with her. I even let Hollen meal prep for me, and cook all of my meals since I liked the way that she cooked.

“That’ll be all, Hollen.” I nodded my head her way to excuse her.

I focused back on Impurity, his eyes were glued to Hollen’s backside. I decided to get right back on track before he inquired on having Hollen for himself.

“My guard didn’t sneak anywhere; he was there waiting for me after the meeting you and me had. He didn’t free anyone, it’s not in his job description, so he doesn’t have to answer to you for that.”

“Are you protecting him?” He gritted.

“No, I’m stating the obvious. He is my shadow like Julius was for you. Speaking of Julius, how is he doing?” I asked, changing the subject.

Impurity would never flat out tell me that he missed me, he would just do what he did today and pop up on me. Truth is, I hated Arkville, I didn’t want to step foot in his city, let alone his estate. Too many dark memories that would halt me in my steps. Impurity barely texted me, or even called unless it was important. He’d send for Herringbone to get a message through to me.

“Julius died three weeks ago. Before he died, he begged me to take care of his daughter.” Impurity sneered.

“And are you doing that?” I sat up in my seat, trying to brace myself for his answer.

Julius was a faithful guard of my father since I was born. He was like an uncle to me, and out of all the other sick guards that Impurity had working for him, Julius was the one with an actual heart.

“She’s caged, in training with the other guards until I figure out what I want with her. She’s thirty years old, close to your age. Do you want her, Detavio?” He tilted his head to the side.

His black collared shirt clung to him like a second skin like it shared his bitterness with him. With slowness in his true form, he reached into his shirt and pulled out a small pouch of tobacco. He spilled a little of the rough brown leaves into the palm of his hand and glanced up at me then threw the leaves in his mouth. His chewing annoyed me, his jaw snapped as the tobacco sounded like something being crushed under a strong boot.

My eyes remained fixed on him as I shook my head, disgusted with his actions.

“When will all of this get old to you, Impurity? Why do that to Julie, Julius’s only daughter! He was good to you; do you have any fuckin’ morals!” I seethed.

I was met by silence for a moment. The only noise that was faint was him chewing on his damn tobacco. His gritty expression didn’t waver, he had a permanent mask of cold indifference plastered on his face.

“Tell me, boy.” He rasped between chews.

“You think with too many feelings. You subject yourself to them, and then you try to fight off being just like me. You are me, Detavio Decebal, and once you understand and accept yourself, life will be better! I let you do all of this nerd shit, only because it makes the Decebal name and legacy look a little less dark. It brings us a better name than when I once served as mayor of Arkville. I’m getting back to that as well, which is why I need you to hurry up and kill that bitch, Angel. You’ve been playing around, don’t make any mistakes by falling for her ass.” He warned.

“I will kill her when I’m done having fun with her. All of this social media shit is just for views and getting attention for her brand. The police won’t pick it up be?—”

He slammed both of his palms at the edge of my desk which made his mutts stand to attention.

“Sit down, bitches.” He ordered them without looking their way.

They let out small whines then laid down in submission.

“Two million! That’s how much I paid, because there is always new feds! Fuck the police! It’s the feds that you have to pay to look the other way, although I control a lot of the jurisdiction. I want her dead for the audacity of speaking the Decebal name. I want to become mayor again with no dirt attached to my name, and I refuse to be forced to step down like her bitch ass daddy had to when he was mayor.” He gritted out.

“Speaking of James Willis, your men never finished the job with him. Why?” I asked.
