“Lexi said she was worried about me coming to stalk you two, so I wasn’t allowed to have it.”

Chuckling I mutter, “She’s so fucking weird.”

Nodding, he starts the car. “I have everything I need.”

“Whatdidyou need?”

“You’ll see,” he teases with that sexy grin again. His eyes are dark and heated. It makes my skin tingle even if I have no idea what he’s planning.

I settle back in my seat as he pulls back onto the road. “What were you throwing away?”

This time, his smile is so shy and cute and dare I saynervous.“I figured I would check on the pussies.” That makes me laugh as I watch him from the passenger seat. “I gave them some food, filled their water bowl and cleaned the litter box for them.” He shrugs and says it so casually, as if it isn’t a big deal. He hasnoreason to take that responsibility upon himself, but it makes my heart grow ten sizes anyway.

I grab the hand he has resting on the gear shift and setour interlaced fingers on my thigh. “You’re too good to me.”

“No, baby. This is only the bare minimum of what you deserve.”

I squeeze his hand, giving him a small smile even though he’s looking at the road. “And what do you deserve?”

He gives me a side-eye look; from my seat I can see the affection in his expression. “Whatever you’ll give me.”

“Everything then.”

Lifting my hand to his lips, he places a kiss on each of my knuckles. “Do you need anything before we go home?”

Home.

I love the sound of that. It doesn’t matter that we are going to Grady’s house after just leaving mine. Wherever Grady is, my home is there now.

I shake my head. “No, take me home.”

When I walk out of the bathroom, I find Grady sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for me. He already got my side ready—a glass of water and an extra charger. Sometimes he leaves a hair tie on the nightstand so he can braid my hair before bed, but he did that while I was brushing my teeth tonight.

“What’s going on?” I ask cautiously, choosing to lean against the dresser. He casually stands up and walks toward me. He lets one hand fall to the dresser next to my hip, the other plays with the hem of my silky shorts. He bought me another pair—this one white with a dainty wildflower print.

In his husky bedroom voice, that could make me do just about anything, he says, “I want to try something with you tonight.”

“Uh, what—“ When I see him grab the silky tie off his dresser, an electric current zaps through my body. “What are you doing with that?”

He chuckles quietly, slowly walking closer toward me. He is looking at me like a starved lion. And I am the lonely gazelle he is about to devour.

Subconsciously I take a step back. The deep, rumbly sound rolls out of him again as he takes one large step. He is right in front of me now, his arm wrapping around my waist. “Do you trust me?” There’s a slight panicked edge to his voice.

I tilt my head, giving him a serious look. “Of course, Grady. I trust you more than anyone else, especially now.”

“I want to tie you up.”

My mouth twists to the side. The idea mostly arouses me but there is a part of me that’s nervous. I don’t like the idea of not being able to touchhim. But I’ve never done this with anyone. Grady looks so confident in his desires that it makes me wonder where this is coming from. “Have you ever done this before?”

“No,” he answers immediately. “But I want to try this with you. If you want to. If you’re uncomfortable then we won’t.”

I scan his face, looking for answers even though I know mine is going to be yes. I look down at the light blue tie again. “I’ve never seen you wear a tie before… is that from your wedding?”

He scowls at me but the gentle, yet firm hold he takes on my chin says otherwise. “No, Genevieve. I wouldnever.“ He actually sounds annoyed with me and that’s uncommon for Grady. It startles me back a little.

If I’m being honest, I know it’s an unfair assumption. Grady hasn’t ever blurred the lines of his previous marriage and our relationship. But my insecurities are still so loud sometimes. I bite my lip, hoping I didn’t ruin the night.

He pulls me closer to him again and his eyes soften. “I own very few things from when I was married. And all of it is because it was something that wasmine, like my Jeep, not ever ours. This tie…“ He clears his voice, looking nervous again. “This isn’t from my wedding.”
