She moved against me. “Dominic.”

She moaned in my mouth, first in pleasure before it morphed into pain.

Another contraction hit.

I stood. “All right, baby. It’s time I get you to the hospital.”

I helped her stand just as Braxton bounded down the stairs. “Is it time?” he asked excitedly.

It was a fucking miracle that what happened to him and Emmy didn’t affect him more than it should have.

My little boy was still the happy boy he was before everything happened, and the time spent with his aunt had been good for him.

I had done what I promised Jenny and hadn’t reached out to her since I got Braxton back.

She was happier without me in her life.

It was a hard thing to admit, but I had to let my baby sister make decisions about her life, and she had decided to not have me in it.

That didn’t mean it didn’t break my fucking heart in two.

But I was finding it easier to live with when I had Emmy, my boys, and soon, the two newest additions to the Madden clan.

I ruffled Braxton’s hair and nodded. “Yeah. I’m gonna take Emmy to the hospital. Roman, Ryleigh, and Ryker are on their way. They’ll be here soon. You be good for them.”

I couldn’t believe my VP was now a dad, considering the lost man he had been when he first came to Sacramento as a prospect for my club.

Fuck, but that felt like a lifetime ago.

Braxton’s smile widened. “Oh, I love Ryker. I hope Emmy has boys.”

We chose not to learn the sex of the babies. All we knew was that the babies were healthy, and there were two of them.

Emmy grunted again, reminding me we needed to hurry.

“Be good, okay?” I said to Braxton, kissing the top of his head. He grumbled a little about that, but he wasn’t really upset over my show of affection.

Fuck me, but it was good to have my boy back, in my house and under my protection.

We used the SUV.

I didn’t drive my car often, preferring the bike over the humongous beast I had parked in the garage, but ever since we found out Emmy was pregnant, which wasn’t long after my little resurrection act, I had been using it.

I was afraid to take her out on my bike.

Afraid she might fall off, even though it was unlikely.

We took off for the hospital, and I followed every single traffic law to the fucking T. Something Emmy seemed to find amusement from, despite the obvious pain she was in.

When we got to the hospital, one of the nurses came out with a wheelchair. I had called in advance to let them know we were coming, and I’d booked a private room.

When Kai was born, I barely had two dimes to rub together. Things had been tough with him for a while, but now that I had the resources to give all my kids better things in life, I was going to make sure they wanted for nothing.

I jumped out of the car and ran to the other side to help Emmy out.

“I got this,” I said, taking control of the handles on the wheelchair from the male nurse. He smartly stepped back and let me push my baby inside to have my babies.

Fuck me—I wasn’t nervous all day today, but now that we were here, the reality of the situation finally penetrated.
