We were fucking lucky Ryleigh came when she did, or we would have been doing life in prison right now.

The reality of what I did, what I risked every single fucking day for the club, had never been more clear than when I realized how close we’d come to getting put away.

And we still hadn’t caught the fucking rat.

He was lying low for now, but I was sure he would mess up sooner or later, and I could be fucking patient.

“You think this was an inside job?” I asked.

“Who else would know where Braxton was?” Blade asked.

I didn’t answer him.

The fact that my son could have been taken away from me because of one of the brothers who’d sworn loyalty to me, who swore to protect my club and our brothers with their blood, had already crossed my mind.

“This stays between us,” I said slowly, staring at every one of my brothers.

I might have dedicated my entire life to the club and to the men in it, but this was my inner circle.

Around me, my men nodded.

“I’m gonna find the fucking traitor,” I said. “And if the bastard had anything to do with Braxton, they’re gonna wish for fucking death before I’m done having my fun. It’ll make Micah look like a fucking priest.”

Across from me, Micah cracked a small smile, the promise of blood putting a glint in his eyes.

I walkeddown the quiet hotel hallway.

It was still early, and I didn’t even think Emmy was awake.

That was good.

It was going to make what I had to do a hell of a lot easier.

Blue looked up at me when I got close and straightened.

The man was the newest patch member to be sworn in.

Like most of the men in my club, he came from a past filled with darkness he’d much rather forget.

Or take it out on someone else.

Lucky for him, my club provided the right outlet for that.

Aside from the thorough background check I’d done before I even let him become a prospect, I didn’t know much about the kid.

And background checks only told me so much.

I relied a lot on my instincts and the words of other members who vouched for him. In this case, that member was my son.

I trusted Kai’s judgment as much as I trusted my own.

As long as Blue was loyal to the club, I couldn’t give two fucks about all he had done before.

It wasn’t like I could judge, considering how much dark shit I had found myself in before. And it was about to get even darker.

“Any movement in there?”
