It was probably the latter.

I shook my head. “Come eat, wildcat.”

She bit her lip, hesitating.

I walked over to the cart and removed the lids of the two plates of two eggs, roasted red potatoes, and bacon strips.

It wasn’t much, but it would be enough before transporting her back to my home from the hotel.

“Aren’t you hungry?” I asked.

Her stomach answered for me when it growled loudly. A fascinating blush took over her face, and I wondered if that blush went anywhere else.

The urge to find out was strong, but I held in some control.

I wasn’t that much of a monster.

I wheeled the cart over to the bed and sat on the edge of it, patting the seat next to me.

She eyed the space as if she thought I would take a bite out of her if she got close enough.

I looked at her expectantly and waited. My patience was already running low, and if she waited any longer, I would get up and grab her.

Luckily for her, she walked over and sat down, trying to put as much space between us without making it obvious.

I rolled my eyes, wrapped my arms around her waist, and pulled her close enough that our thighs were touching, and I could feel the heat of her pressed against me, making my dick twitch, wanting to play.

Fuck, but since when did I react this way to a woman after such a short amount of time?

She gasped and tensed in my arms.

I looked sideways at her.

“Don’t want you to fall off,” I said, like the helpful man that I was.

“I wouldn’t have.”

“Are you sure about that?”

She didn’t answer me, and I pushed one of the plates in front of her. I handed her a fork. She looked at it like she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to do.

“Eat, wildcat, or I’ll feed you.”

She quickly grabbed the fork, and something that resembled disappointment moved through me as the image of feeding her while she sat on my lap dissolved.

I blinked and focused back on my own breakfast, taking a huge bite of the bacon and feeling her eyes on me.

I pretended not to notice, but fuck, I loved her eyes on me.

I didn’t mistake the brief heat that I’d seen in them yesterday.

Whatever this…connectionI was feeling between us was, the little wildcat felt it too, and that would make what I was going to do a lot easier.

We ate in silence.

I finished mine before she did, and I leaned back against the mattress, my hands braced behind me as I watched her. She was aware of my eyes. That blush that I had been so fascinated by was back on her cheeks. This time, a deeper shade of red.

My finger jerked with the need to reach out and touch her cheek, to see if it would be as hot as it looked, but I resisted.
