I shook my head. I would stay with him forever if he let me. “I will never get tired of you.”
“Good to know,” he said. “Now that we got that settled, we’re going to talk about what we’ll do next.”
“What do you mean?”
“I meant what I said this morning. I’m sorry, baby, but perhaps taking some time off from work is a good idea.”
I shook my head. “I can’t.”
I had some savings in my account, but not enough. I couldn’t not work.
“Just for now,” he said, as if he could read the turmoil in my eyes. “Until I take care of the problem.”
I didn’t ask how he planned on doing that. Something told me I wouldn’t want to know.
“And you know I will take care of everything for you,” he said.
“That doesn’t sound fai—”
I shut my mouth when he shot me a look.
“Good girl,” he said. “And you’re moving in with me.”
“Kai—”
“Let me take care of you.”
“You already do.”
“Not well enough if you’re still fighting with me about this.”
“We’re not… I’m not fighting.”
“No?” he asked, looking amused.
I shook my head.
He smiled.
I might be a little in love with this boy.
My breath caught.
“Let me take care of everything. You’re already spending all your time with me, anyway. And I can’t let you out of my sight. Not after yesterday. And if you try to leave, I’ll tie you up in my bed and keep you here.”
I laughed a little, sure he was kidding. He had tied me up, but to keep me here? That was kidnapping.
He didn’t laugh.
Okay, so I was a little sure he was kidding… right?
“Say yes, baby.”
I looked down at the sheets. He grabbed my hands in his big ones. They contrasted with my own so much, it was hard not to notice.
His hands were big and scarred, and I was wholly obsessed with them.
“Okay.”
