She looked around, and I worked to keep from showing my annoyance. “You know, I would have never thought bondage was your thing,” she said. “But seeing this place in the daytime, I can understand it. Why is everything so clean? It’s like a psych ward in here.”

She turned to me, seeing the cold look in my eyes, and pushed back against the wall a bit. She laughed nervously when I didn’t say anything.

“It’s nice to see you up, but it’s time for you to go,” I said after a moment when she started to shift in the silence.

Her eyes widened in surprise. I ignored it and moved to the bedside table for the keys to the handcuffs.

I unlocked her and removed the handcuffs, setting them on the bedside table. I would take care of them later.

It was a fucking mistake inviting her back here, but fuck, I wasn’t thinking last night.

Things had been hard lately, and I hadn’t been thinking much of anything in a while.

My brain was completely fucked.

She rubbed her wrist with one hand and glared at me. “Are you serious? Not even a thank you for last night or even breakfast? Hell, I would have taken a coffee.”

Her outburst only reminded me I had coffee brewing in the kitchen. We could smell it from the bedroom, but the last thing I wanted to do was extend her visit any more than necessary.

I raised an eyebrow. “Should I be thanking you? Or is it the other way around? I didn’t hear you complaining last night. Hell, hard to complain with all that screaming.”

She gasped, and I stood, done with the conversation.

“You’re an asshole!” she screeched, making me wince.

Fuck, but it was way too goddamn early for this.

I watched as she climbed off the bed and scrambled around for her clothes, not a hint of shyness about her nakedness.

I should have known the girl would be a problem when she picked me up last night, but at least she was leaving now.

She put on her clothes quickly and turned to me.

“If you need a ride, I can call for one,” I said.

“Fuck you,” she said, then stomped out of the apartment.

I waited until the door slammed behind her before I let out a small sigh and picked up around my place.

I replaced the sheets with new ones and shoved the dirty ones down in the laundry basket.

I didn’t feel like I could breathe again until I had removed all traces of the girl and the apartment belonged to me once more.

I noticed the picture of Braxton I had on the mantel had moved slightly. The girl touched it before she left, and irritation made it through me at the thought. I should have fucking watched her better.

I set the picture back to its position before turning around and examining the clean, put-together room.

Fuck me, but I would never bring another girl home again.

I tooka sip of my coffee and stared at my laptop, getting work done.

Besides security for the club, part of my job was keeping an eye on my dad’s assets and making sure everything was where it was supposed to be.

I ran all the numbers, smiling a little at our success.

The King’s Men had ruled this city for more than a decade now, but this was the first time we’d seen such an enormous growth in our profits within a year, and it all had to do with our alliance with the Four Horsemen.
