He found me!

Kai’s eyes briefly met mine, and the angry expression was lost for a moment. In its place was another emotion I didn’t understand.

I cried harder.

Dominic walked around me, and I flinched when he touched my arms.

“Shh, sweet girl,” he said, circling the chair so I could see his face. “It’s just me. I’m gonna untie you, okay? Are you hurt anywhere?”

I shook my head. Dominic was looking at me the same way I remembered my dad used to. I really hoped he’d meant what he said when he said he thought of me as his daughter, because I decided then that I was adopting him.

He untied me and pulled the ropes away as Kai led Frank to the corner.

Dominic wrapped his arms around me and pushed my head to his chest.

“It’s all right,” he said. “Just focus on me, okay?”

I struggled in his arms, wanting Kai, but he tightened his hold on me.

“Not yet.”

I heard scuffling, then Frank let out a small whimper, then there was a loud sound that sounded like flesh hitting flesh… a thump.

I flinched.

Dominic gently pushed me into another pair of arms.

I cried. I recognized these arms.

I would have recognized him anywhere.

“Kai!”

He tightened his arms around me, almost to the point of suffocation.

“I got you, pretty girl,” he said softly. “I got you. I’m sorry it took me so long, but you’re safe now, okay? I promise, you’re safe now.”

I whimpered and burrowed deeper into him.

I was safe now.

I walked into the warehouse.

A part of me hadn’t wanted to leave Gemma, but Blue was with her.

Micah opened the door for me when I knocked, and I took in his cold silver eyes.

I had known Micah since I was a teenager, and he would do anything for the club. That didn’t mean I didn’t feel a slight shiver looking into his eyes.

I was as close to Micah and Roman as I would be with my uncles.

They were more than my dad’s friends and brothers.

They would die to protect the club, and they would die to protect me.
