My nails dug into the skin on his forearm, feeling so sensitive I didn’t know what to do with myself.

Tears streamed down the side of my face.

“Shh, it’s okay. Such a good girl for me. Look at how beautifully you came,” he murmured.

I shook my head and opened my eyes. “I’m pregnant.”

He smiled widely. Obviously, I was the only one freaked out over this.

“You’re pregnant.”

“How could this be possible?”

“Well, pretty girl, if you don’t know, I’ll be happy to demonstrate… again.”

He tried to push me to lie on my back. I poked his chest.

“Oh, no. You’re not distracting me again.”

His lips twitched. If he laughed, I might be violent.

“I can’t believe you figured this out before me,” I said.

“It’s not that hard. Your body is my favorite subject.”

I shook my head. “And that you went through my phone. How would you feel if I went through your phone?”

“Go right ahead, baby. You know the passcode, and I haven’t changed it since I gave it to you.”

I could feel the breath whoosh out of me, along with any anger I might have had.

I didn’t know what to say to him.

“What are we going to do?” I finally said.

“Raise this child. Love him or her. Love each other. And live happily ever after.”

I shook my head, laughing a little.

“You’re crazy,” I said, only half-joking.

Did he really believe in happily ever after? Was it even possible for someone like me?

“I’m crazy about you,” he said.

I shook my head.

He kissed me.

“Yes,” he muttered against my lips. “I love you. I’m not going anywhere, and neither are you, and neither is our child. Okay?”

I might be just as crazy as him because I…

I believed him.

“Okay,” I said softly.

He kissed me again. “That’s my girl.”
