Not after all the shit that had happened with her not even a year ago, when one of his best friends growing up ended up betrayed the club and took the girl right from under his nose.
She had been pregnant at the time. Now, they had a three-month-old son, Kingston, and Dominic was a forty-year-old grandpa.
And the young gramps was smiling wide at his grandson as Kai and Gemma approached.
I looked at him with some amusement.
If those pieces of shit who wanted the club could see the president now…
They’d fucking use Kingston.
I could feel my face darkening at the thought.
They would have to get through me first. Kingston was another one of my weaknesses walking around the world.
Gemma pulled back a little when she caught sight of the look on my face, and I forced myself to relax my facial muscles.
Roman looked at me strangely before he turned to them.
“Hey, guys,” Kai greeted, pulling out a seat next to Dominic for Gemma.
Dominic took the baby carrier away from Kai’s hand, who was looking at his old man with some amusement.
Dominic pulled the blanket away and revealed the baby, who was awake and looking around with curiosity.
He didn’t really react when he saw Dominic, but I swore, if he could, he’d probably smile.
Dominic was fucking goo when it came to his kids and grandkid.
“Hey, little warrior,” Dominic cooed.
Kai let out a snort of laughter and turned to Roman and me. “He’s like a different man, ain’t he?”
“Don’t get smart on me, son. I love ya, but I can think of a way to get back at you for that mouth of yours.”
Beside him, Gemma covered her smiling mouth.
Dominic turned to her with affection in his eyes. Using his other hand, he patted her head gently. “How are you, sweet girl? Is my boy treatin’ you right?”
“You know he is treating me right, Dad.”
Dominic smiled and pulled Gemma close into his arms, whispering something to her that had her nodding and smiling a bit.
Kai watched the interaction with a happy look on his face.
It was good to see the kid happy.
Especially since I had watched him grow up wearing a haunted look in his eyes from all the shit that had happened before.
Now, he had a family of his own, and he was proving to everyone, every day that he was Dominic Madden’s son.
He caught my eyes then and turned to Gemma.
“Hey, pretty girl, can you hand me my laptop?”
Gemma nodded and placed it in his hand.
He set it down on the table and opened it up.
