Jesus fucking Christ.
How the hell was I supposed to say anything with her here?
Roman opened his mouth to say what I didn’t know.
He didn’t get the chance.
A loud group of men walked in, and it was obvious from the look of them, they were up to no fucking good.
I narrowed my eyes at the man in the center, who seemed to be the ringleader of this group of about ten men.
He signaled to the waitress and made a nasty gesture with his hand. “How about a beer here for my friends and me, beautiful?”
The waitress looked at them cautiously as she approached.
She said something to one of the men I didn’t hear but caused the group to erupt in obnoxious laughter.
I cracked my neck, feeling myself tense.
One man snaked his arm around the waitress and tried to grope her.
She said something to the man, glaring down at him and pushing his hand away.
“Fucking cunt. What the hell did you just say to me?” the man asked.
The waitress stormed off without a word. I nodded to the bartender working, and he pulled the waitress behind the bar.
Around us, the five brothers in the club that were there looked at them before they turned to our group, waiting to see what Dominic would have them do.
Kai took Kingston from Dominic’s arms and pulled Gemma up from her seat.
“Come on, pretty girl. Let’s bring you and our boy to the office, yeah?”
He was talking to her calmly, trying not to scare her, but she didn’t buy it.
She looked at us, her eyes stopping on me for a brief second, and I didn’t know what she was thinking or feeling as Kai led her away from us.
We waited until the door to the office closed behind them before Dominic gave the signal to the club brothers, and they all stood up at once, drawing the attention of the newcomers.
They looked around at us, unease on their faces, but the stupid ringleader of the group tilted his head up stubbornly. “What’s the meaning of this? We’re just here getting a drink. There’s no need to act so hostile.”
“You’re not welcome here,” Dominic said from his platform, drawing their attention.
I felt their gaze settle over me.
Roman and I stood up next to him and looked down at the fuckers.
“I’m giving you a chance to do the smart thing and leave this bar,” Dominic continued.
They shifted on their feet, but the stupid fucks just shook their heads.
“No, this is a public bar. And we just want a drink.”
“No,” Dominic said, moving down to them. Roman and I followed. “This ismybar. And you’re not fucking welcome here.”
“Why not? We didn’t do anything,” the man said.
The three of us didn’t need to interfere. Even if the five brothers here were clearly outnumbered, I doubted they wouldn’t be able to take care of the mess themselves.
