The remaining two men with them blanched from the noise, but they otherwise remained silent.
I noticed Edger was holding onto one of the men tightly. His eyes met mine.
It seemed Edger knew who this fucker was.
The boys struggled when three of the brothers came over and held them down.
I moved to each of them, pulling off their shoes, taking off their socks, and threw them to the brothers.
“Cover their mouths. I usually prefer to hear the screams coming out of the fucks as I cut into, but we’re not in King’s Men’s territory. Wouldn’t want to alert anyone now, would we?”
Kai and Dominic stood by and watched the show.
They didn’t try to stop me when I got to the first boy.
He tried to move away, but there was nowhere to go.
“Hold his head,” I said.
I waited until his head was still, and I started to carve the words on his forehead.
He struggled, trying to get away, but it was useless.
He cried through the sock in his mouth, his eyes wide from pain and fear.
Blood dripped down his face after I got to the first curve in the letter R. Then I continued from one letter to the next. I took care not to use too much pressure.
I didn’t want to kill ’im.
Not yet.
Right now, they were under Dominic’s protection.
But only until high school graduation.
The boy was no longer struggling once I was done. I moved to the next boy and did the same process.
And then finally, the third one—the one that had pissed his pants.
The one who called himself Josh.
Unluckily for him, I never forget a face or name.
I pulled him up by the shirt, taking in my handiwork once I was done.
Fucking beautiful.
“Just a month away from graduation, isn’t that right?” I asked him.
He nodded, not saying anything, as tears and blood dripped down his face.
“When that day comes, do you know what you need to do?”
He shook his head, his hand gripping the hand I had around his shirt, holding him up.
“Run.”
He cried harder.
