His eyes flashed dangerously, and I held in a smile.

“If any man sees that mark on you, he’ll be a dead man. So unless you want to start this date with me killing someone, I suggest that the dress stays on unless I take it off you, get me?”

He glided his hand up between my breasts and curled it around my neck. I was sure he could feel my pulse jumping in excitement.

“Got you.”

He leaned down and kissed the top of my head before walking away.

I looked at theLaineyscar on his back.

Obviously, I hadn’t done as careful of a job with him as he’d done with me, but then again, he was the one with the experience wielding the blade.

He could really blame me that the skin still looked angry and red, even after five days.

I put on some strappy white sandals and waited for him by the door.

Moments later, he came back out, this time with his shirt and boots on. His beard was full and neatly trimmed, which only added to the rugged look he had going on.

My mouth opened as I took him in, his silver eyes dancing when he found the star-struck look on my face. Walking up to me, he tapped my nose playfully.

“Don’t look at me like that, sweetheart. Before I say fuck this whole night and instead keep you in here with me. We can role-play. You’ll be the innocent girl, and I’ll play the monster who’s keeping you captive inside this house, making you delirious with orgasms.”

My breath caught. That just sounded so fucking appealing.

I shook out of my thoughts and tilted my head back to look up at him. “So not really role-playing, but enacting our reality.”

His lips twitched just before he leaned over and took mine in a searing kiss.

I grabbed two fistfuls of his shirt and held him close to me, kissing him back.

I didn’t want this to end.

When he pulled away, I tried to follow his lips with my own, but he held me off.

Grabbing my hands, he led me out the door. “Come on. Let’s take you out to dinner.”

We went back to the same restaurant he had taken me to when he brought me to see Grandma for the first time, since he moved her to that nursing home.

Everything was the same, but things were different with us, and even when the hostess looked at him with a clear lust in her eyes, I didn’t feel the need to claw her eyes out.

Instead, I moved closer to Micah and placed my hand on his chest. Staking my claim.

I was just as crazy as Micah was.

I shook away the thought as we were led to the same table we had sat at. Like the last time, he sat down next to me.

Our server was a beautiful woman with a friendly smile named Jessica.

Micah ordered for us, water for him and a coke for me, as well as two steaks, prepared the same way he had ordered them to be prepared the last time.

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re trying to recreate how it was the last time we were here,” I said, taking a sip of my drink.

“So what if I am?” he asked mildly.

I didn’t answer him right away. I placed the cup back down on the table and looked at him. Really looked at him.

“Why?”
