I stilled, surprised he was even bringing it up.

Shrugging, I said, “I don’t really know what kind of mom I can be. Kids aren’t really something I think about.”

“And now?”

“Do you want children?” I asked.

He didn’t say anything for a beat. Then, “Did you know Roman has a two-year-old boy?”

I shook my head. “And seeing your nephew makes you want kids?”

He drew little circles in his bite mark on my shoulder, distracting me. “No.”

“Oh.”

“Seeing Ryker reminds me of how Roman was when he was little. Defenseless… innocent.Mine.”

“And Roman isn’t yours anymore?” I asked, as more of the image I had of Micah started to form even more, becoming clearer as each day passed, and gave me a better insight into who he was.

“He’s his own man. And if there was someone he belongs to, it’s Ryleigh—his wife.”

“I heard about her. She was the late Judge Hudson’s daughter, right?”

Micah nodded.

How interesting.

“So you miss having someone as yours?”

He pulled me tighter into him. “You’re mine.”

“Yes, but you know having your own kids is different, right? They’re a whole ’nother responsibility and ballgame.”

“They’ll be another one of my weaknesses walking around in this world.”

“And you don’t want that? You don’t want another weakness… amIa weakness for you?”

He pressed his thumb against my bottom lip and swiped across it gently. I felt that move all the way down to my pussy.

We hadn’t bothered dressing when he carried me up to the bed, and I was sure he noticed the way my nipples were hardening from this simple touch from him.

I swallowed as I watched his silver eyes turn dark.

“You’re everything,” he whispered.

I blinked and looked down at his chest, not wanting him to see the emotion in my eyes.

“There would be no me if you’re not here. I would destroy the entire world just to get to you.”

“Micah…”

“Tell me you love me,” he demanded.

I looked back up at him. There was something that looked a hell of a lot like torture in his eyes.

“I love you.”

He nodded. “Having kids or not having kids has never really crossed my mind. All I know is that once Ryker was born, it felt like there was this lightness in my chest, and yet, there was also a heavy weight that I couldn’t get rid of on my shoulders. Ryker is the spitting image of Roman. He looked just like Roman did when he was little, and I am sure he will grow more into his features as he gets older. And for years, Roman had been my entire world.
