“Every decision I made, every action taken, every thought had, was Roman. If he wasn’t safe, no one in this world would have been safe from my wrath. And to think I could have a kid—a daughter that looks just like you? Or a son that shares your smile… your eyes….”
He shook his head.
I snuggled in closer to him.
“I’ll leave the decision to you, sweetheart.”
I smiled and pressed a small kiss on his chest. “Okay. Now about the fight….”
Micah tensed before he seemed to have forced himself to relax against me.
I pulled away so I could look at him. “Don’t make me stay home, Micah.”
“And if you get frightened by what you see?”
“I probably will,” I said. “But I won’t run from you.”
His breath caught, and I knew out of all his worries about me going to the fight, that was one of the biggest.
I cupped his cheek. “Nothing you say or do will turn me away from you—unless you betray or cheat on me. Then I’ll cut your balls off in your sleep and feed them to you.”
His eyes widened at my words before he threw his head back and laughed. I stayed where I was and looked at him, reveling in the sight of him like this—happy and carefree.
“Such a violent little thing.”
“You’re one to talk.”
Micah was worse than me. When I said stuff like that, they were mostly just words. When Micah told me he would kill any man who touched me…
Yeah, I didn’t think they werejustwords.
He cupped the back of my head and pulled me in close to him, kissing me deeply, and like the sucker I was for the man, I gave into the kiss, savoring the taste of him and knowing it would never be enough with him.
“Lucky for me,” he muttered against my lips. “I hadn’t even touched a woman since I saw you.”
I pulled back in surprise. “You mean years ago?”
“Why do you sound so surprised?” he asked, a slight twist of his lips to show that he was amused.
“Well, I assumed…”
I shook my head.
He laughed, drawing my attention back to him. “It’s you. It has only ever been you. Got me?”
“Got you.”
He let out a small sigh. “You’re to stay with Dominic and Roman the entire time. You don’t leave their sight for any reason, not even to use the bathroom, so I suggest you don’t drink anything that night, sweetheart.”
I let out a small exhale when I realized what he was saying. He was letting me go to the fight.
“When is it?”
“Saturday.”
I blinked. “And who are you fighting? You said the VP of the Devil Sinners?”
That wasn’t Brody, was it?
