I tried to look away, but he gripped me harder.

“Remember to smile pretty for the camera. And scream as loud as you want. Do you know how many sick fucks out there will love it when you do? How many of them will jerk off to the video of me taking you hard?”

I shook my head, more tears coming out.

He moved his hand down between my legs, cupping me through my jeans, and I closed my eyes and let out a loud scream.

The door burst open, and I flinched, keeping my eyes closed, even as Garrett screeched in surprise. A loud thud rang out, and then Garrett was pulled away from me.

Still, I didn’t dare open my eyes.

Didn’t dare hope…

No, that wasn’t possible.

Micah wouldn’t be able to find me.

A grunt came out when the sound of flesh hitting flesh rang out in my ears.

Someone gently touched my shoulders.

I winced away.

“Fuck, I’m sorry, Lainey. Can you open your eyes for me?”

My brows pulled together in a frown. That sounded…

Slowly, I opened my eyes to see sorrow-filled brown eyes.

“Hey,” he said softly. “I’m so sorry, Lainey. I shouldn’t have let you out of my sight.”

“R-Roman?”

He smiled a little, though it didn’t reach his eyes.

I turned my head to see what was going on when Roman stopped me.

“Please listen to me and don’t look, okay?”

I opened my mouth, to say what, I didn’t know, before I shut it and nodded.

He relaxed a little and untied me from the chair.

Slowly, he pulled me up into his arms and carried me out of the room.

I wished I had listened to him and not looked, but I peeked my eyes open to see Micah poke his blade through Garrett’s eye.

Garrett screamed, his arms and legs flailing about, trying to get away.

I met Micah’s eyes.

They didn’t look human.

I swallowed before I buried my face in Roman’s chest, letting him get us out of there.
