I shot him one last look and got out of his truck.

As usual, he waited until I was inside with the door closed behind me before he drove off.

I leaned back against the door and looked over the dark, empty trailer, wondering why I felt so emotional.

After a moment, I forced myself to walk to the bathroom and get ready for bed.

MICAH

I watchedmy next target as rage coursed through me.

I wasn’t a man who gave in to his emotions often. I was good at what I did because I could separate my emotions, myhumanside, and just get the job done without hesitation.

The only time I had felt like this was when I hunted down the Devil Sinners and took out the entire club for hurting Roman.

But Roman was a big man, and it was as he had been telling me all along. He was his own man, and he knew how to protect himself.

But Lainey…

Fuck.

Red filled my vision, and I imagined all the fucking ways I could make the fucker pay.

I wouldn’t kill him.

Not when I was about to take Lainey with me in a couple of days, and she was connected with him. I didn’t want the police to come looking for her only to realize I had her.

Lucky for the fucker.

But that didn’t mean I could let this go.

I thought about her voice, the panic and fear in them as she told the fucker to fuck off.

I hadn’t been able to put any camera or audio device in Ozzy’s place because the fucker was paranoid, but Garrett Jones was a different story.

I had cameras in his room and audio in his car, and I had listened to them while they were on their supposed date.

Unlucky for him, what I heard only fueled my anger when it would have been enough to know he had left her on the fucking cliffside to walk home by herself.

I didn’t react when the doors to the bar burst open, and the fucker stumbled out.

I walked to his car slowly. He was unaware he was currently being hunted down.

And the stupid fucker had chosen to park in a deserted area with no lights or cameras.

It wasn’t like the cameras this bar had in place actually worked.

Not when all the shady people came through, and all the shit that happened around this part of town.

I moved when the fucker got halfway to his car, following a steady pace behind him.

He unlocked the car and was about to open it when I slammed him against it.

“Fuck! What the hell?”

He turned and took me in, the angry expression on his face disappearing in place of his fear.
