She didn’t.

I let my lips gently graze over hers, and a soft, stuttering noise escaped from her lips.

She closed her eyes and—

“Bianca, what is taking so long on those bottles—oh, er—sorry.”

Bianca tried to push me away, but I firmed my hold, not letting her go that easily. Not now when I’d finally gotten her where I fucking wanted her.

I looked up and glared at Corey Ruiz, the manager.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Cadorna. I hadn’t realized you were back here. I’ll go check on the floor.”

The stupid fucker scrammed out of there without saying another word.

“Mr. Cad—”

I shot her a look.

“Gabriel. Please let me go. I have to get back to work.”

I tightened my hold on her for a fraction before reluctantly letting go.

She stepped back right away, looking up at me, that blush still gracing her cheeks delicately. Then another step back, and another, before she turned and disappeared down the dark hallway.

I stayed where I was for a while and watched the spot she had just vacated.

Fucking hell.

BIANCA

I tooka deep breath and leaned my back against the wall inside the storage where we held the more expensive liquor.

I hadn’t been paying attention, but I should have.

Maybe then, I wouldn’t have run into Gabriel the way I did.

My skin still tingled where he had touched me.

I had been drawn to him since the first day I started working there and found him drinking alone by the bar an hour before the strip club’s opening.

He had looked so alone, but not.

A powerful man, looking down at all the people around him, knowing no one would be brave enough to penetrate through the fortress he had built for himself.

I had wanted to get as close to him, and stay as far away, as possible.

I knew better than to be attracted to a man like Gabriel Cadorna. But that was the funny thing about attraction—it seemed I had no control over my body’s response to the man every time he was near.

And now that he’d touched me, I—

I took a deep breath.

But I had a reason to work here.

And I couldn’t afford to get distracted by a man like him—especiallyhim.
