She let out a small moan. “Gabriel.”

I drew her to me until her back was pressed up against my chest. My lips latched onto the soft skin at the crook of her neck.

“What is it, baby?”

“I, uh, I… I forgot.”

I laughed slightly against her before I brought her skin back into my mouth and sucked harder.

“You smell so good,” I said.

Her scent was fucking addictive.

She let out a soft sigh. “Thank you. You, too.”

What an amusing little thing my wife was.

I was debating throwing off all the shit I had on my desk and laying her down on it so I could have my way with her when her stomach growled loudly.

We both paused.

Then I threw my head back and laughed, and she made a small, embarrassed noise.

I turned her around to look at me, already knowing her skin would be that fascinating red, and sure enough…

Like a tomato.

Fucking adorable.

Would there ever be a time when I wasn’t so captivated by her?

I didn’t know, but if such a time existed, it seemed too far away for me to even comprehend.

“I’m sorry,mi corazón. I have been neglecting you, haven’t I?”

Fuck, but I had been so caught up in work and trying to find Lucinda I couldn’t even remember the last time I had looked at my wife properly.

She shrugged. “I wouldn’t call it that.”

“That’s because you’re sweet.”

I grabbed her hands and placed them on my chest. She fisted them around my shirt, her eyes searching my face.

“Forgive me?” I asked.

She bit her bottom lip. It looked like she was trying hard not to smile.

“On one condition.”

“What is it?”

“A date.”

I didn’t say anything for a moment, but I could feel a small pang of regret.

That was the one aspect of our relationship I had really neglected.

“Baby, I should have taken you out on a million different dates by now.”
