I looked at him. He looked stressed. And I wondered if he would share some of that stress with me.
He let out a small sigh. “Let me shower real quick. Then we’ll talk in the bedroom.”
I nodded and was about to turn back to the water when he stopped me. I turned to him, but he was no longer looking at my face. His eyes were directly on my rib. More specifically, the tattoo.
I held still as he gently pushed the suds away to get a clearer picture, skimming his fingers over the skin surrounding the black ink.
When I met his eyes, there was surprise in there—which told me Killian hadn’t told his brothers before he did it—surprise and something else.
Something dark and twisted.
My breath caught, especially when one eyebrow rose. “Killian?”
I nodded.
“And how do you feel about that?”
“Pissed. Like fucking cattle.”
He smiled a little, and I slapped his chest, the water making the sound louder than I thought it would be. He barely moved, but I winced. Silas grabbed my hand and held it against him.
“Don’t smile,” I whined.
He nodded and brought my hand up to his lips in apology.
“You like it,” I muttered. I saw that glint in his eyes.
He didn’t deny it. “Fuck, angel, do you know what it does to me to see you wearing our name?”
I didn’t have to guess, especially since I could see him growing hard. He had been sporting a half-mast since he got in the shower with me, but now… I swallowed and looked off to the side.
He showed me a playful smile. “You want to get back at him?”
“How?” I asked warily.
He chucked my chin softly. “Just think about what you want to do, and I’ll help you.”
My lips twitched. I couldn’t get back at Killian, not by myself. But with Silas’ help…
My smile widened, and Silas threw his head back and laughed. “Oh, but I love the devious look in your eyes, angel. Would hate to be Killian.”
I shrugged, not at all bothered. In fact, I was feeling…
Powerful.
Was it true, then? Did I really have them all in the palm of my hand? Did I control the savages?
Silas helped me wash all the soap off my body before he took what seemed like the fastest shower in humankind.
How nice it was to be a man. All he did was scrub his body with bodywash, and wash his hair with shampoo, no conditioner, and rinsing took no time at all.
He shot me a bemused smile when he caught me staring at him before reaching over and turning off the water.
I shivered, and Silas quickly ushered me out, wrapping a big white fluffy towel around my body, one around his hips, and led me out of the bathroom.
“Where’s your clothes, baby?” he asked.
I pointed to one of the drawers. I watched as he walked over to it and rummaged through the sparse clothes I had stored there, a frown on his face.
