Something like that.
CONNOR
I’ll persuade you.
He kisses her again, then reaches for the key in his pocket and opens their door, pushing her inside.
INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT
Cecilia and Connor are in bed. She wakes with a start and sits up.Somethingis bothering her.
She gets up. Looks at Connor sleeping peacefully. She slips on her robe and leaves the room.
INT. LIVING ROOM — NIGHT
Cecilia is going through the papers strewn all over the table—maps of the city with markers of where the robberies occurred. She stands over it, looking at it, searching for a pattern.
And then a phone that’s resting on the table FLASHES with an incoming message.
She picks it up. It says ALLISON.
She glances back into the room where Connor is sleeping. He’s still out. She enters his password.
There’s a message in Signal—an encrypted app. She opens it and reads:
I’m expecting my cut of thefinder’s fee—wire it to the usual coordinates. Don’t bring the girl to Monaco. Get rid of her.
Cecilia almost drops the phone. She’shorrified. But there’s more. There are other messages in the app. Messages from someone named GIANNI.
Her hands are shaking as she scrolls through to the older messages.
—GIANNI: We almost got caught last night. Pick a better location next time.
—GIANNI: That bank is too close to the polizia.
—GIANNI: I am not making enough for the risks I am taking.
—GIANNI: I want 50% of the next job.
—GIANNI: If you don’t give me your share I’m telling my father that this was all YOUR idea.
—GIANNI: This is your last warning. I’ll tell my father tomorrow.
She checks the date of the message—three days ago.
CECILIA
(MUTTERING)
Oh my God. Oh my God. Connor was behind it all. He and Allison were behind everything.
Cecilia puts down the phone. She has to get out of here.
She heads for the door of the suite, grabbing her clothes from the floor as she goes.
CONNOR
And where do you thinkyou’regoing?
