Her lips parted on a gasp as he pulled back and thrust inside her.

She welcomed him inside her each time and when he got close enough that they were both gasping for breath, she reached for him just as she lost herself, her body rippling around him, grasping him tight and holding him there.

He went over a moment later, feeling pulse after pulse of his release leaving his body and filling her.

Rhea wrapped her arms around him and drew him against her and her fingers played with his hair.

He should have felt weak, having given her everything he could, but he felt her embracing him and he felt stronger than he'd ever been.

She hadn't said she loved him, but that didn't matter to him.

He knew she was cautious and as a mother of a small child, he had to be.

He was going to show her that she wasn't alone anymore.

She had him.

For the long haul, because he loved her like crazy.

CHAPTER16

When Rhea woke up,she had an arm around her and a man's muscled form behind her. It was different.

Charles hadn't cuddled up to her at night and that was fine. She'd liked her space.

But this? Feeling Brody's heat against her back?

His muscled arm wrapped protectively around her body?

His hand.

Oh boy.

His hand was low on her belly, placed right over that curve of her belly that she had a feeling would never disappear no matter how fit she was.

For a moment she thought about sucking in her belly or moving his hand to her hip, but then she decided against it.

She relaxed back against him and felt him stir.

"Morning, beautiful."

She rolled her eyes, but secretly, she enjoyed the compliment.

She was glad someone thought so.

And then his hand moved, slowly heading down until his fingertips brushed the curls that covered her sex.

"Hey," she covered his hand and put it back where it had been.

"Hey, what?" He leaned in and placed a kiss on her shoulder.

"I don't know," she answered honestly. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around... everything."

"You can wrap your arms around me any time."

He cuddled her closer and she felt like she could melt into his embrace.

"I like this too."
