“You’re the CEO now. You can do whatever you want.”

“It’s important to start on a good note, especially with everything that’s happened.”

I hadn’t expected Warren to have kept the company. I was shocked to hear that he still had it, and this whole time they’d been laying low, slowly building themselves up again until now.

Something my mother had been all too happy about. Of course it took a few weeks of angry, ranting phone calls about Warren keeping something that belonged to “us,” but once she realized the company coming back to me would mean that our reputation was on the mend, she was constantly telling her friends about it.

I didn’t care, though. As long as she was happy—healthy—I had no complaints.

“If it’s what you want, I’ll make it happen,” he said. “Just go home and rest first, hm?”

I groaned as his fingers worked their magic on my swollen ankles, then jumped as the baby decided to make her presence known.

Warren’s hand was on my stomach immediately, but when he felt nothing, he frowned.

“She hates me,” he said sadly.

I let out a laugh, my belly bouncing with it.

“She does not. She’s just not used to your touch yet?—”

“I think she prefers her mom’s touch. I’m partial to it myself. Always have been.” God, I loved it when he said things like that. It made me feel special every time. “I felt her!” he suddenly cried out and the excitement in his voice was enough to bring tears to my eyes.

I never thought I’d get this. Happiness. A family. Let alone with Warren.

But it had always been him, and I was insanely happy.

Life was nonstop with his work, and now mine and a baby on the way. But it was perfect, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

“I will need to find you a new nickname when she comes. I think Daddy won’t be appropriate anymore.”

“You can call me whatever you want as long as I get to call you mine.”

“I love you,” I whispered, cupping his cheek.

“I love you too, babygirl,” he said and leaned forward to place a kiss on my belly. “And this baby too. My girls. Forever.”

I swallowed the emotions welling up inside me and gave him a smile.

“Forever.”
