“Are you going to be an asshole and insult me after you fucked me on your kitchen table? I can’t believe you!” she tried to stand but he grabbed her wrist pulling her over to him. The only way to win the struggle was to position her on his lap and hold her by the wrists. She settled on him and glared with those remarkable, soulful eyes of her. He released her wrists. He took her face in both of his hands.
“We’ve already established I’m an asshole. You caught me off-guard. Everything about you is unexpected. I liked the sex, the way you smell, the way you feel, that tight pussy, and those pretty titties of yours. I like you, if that matters. But in twenty-four hours I have gone from being your boss, to your target, to your childhood crush, to the man you hated for most of your life, and now back to your lover.”
“Well, I don’t hate you now,” she said.
“Good. I’ll hate myself for the both of us.”
“Why?”
“Because I knew that your family died in that car crash. I didn’t think about the little girl with pig tails then. I assumed you were dead with them. All I thought about was what Dale and my father had taken from me. And Clarissa. She died thinking I hated her. When the truth was, I hated myself and my family. You remind me of the good and bad feelings. It confuses me. But I don’t want to change it.” He pulled her face back to his. He brought her lips to his mouth and savored the taste of her. His fingers sank into her thick short curls, and he liked the texture of her hair, it felt so different from his own. She was a woman. A very sensitive and naïve woman when it came to men like him. It’s why she risked her future for some noble cause without a second thought to the consequences. And willingly offered the man poised to destroy her take her body with barely a fight. It was also why he had to be careful how many lines he crossed with her. This could end badly for them both.
She drew back and rubbed her hands over his chest. “I want more,” she smiled. “Me on top this time with you on your back, where you belong.”
“Maybe in an hour,” he smiled.
She chuckled. She looked back at the stuff splattered over the floor. “I guess breakfast is ruined. What were we fighting about again?” she asked.
“I don’t remember. Hey, I’m not going to say this because of what happened between us but I’ve been thinking about it since last night.”
“About what?” she asked.
“About turning you in to the police” he said. “Things got out of hand between us. And it looks like I have bigger problems than you and the E.P.U.”
“What about Daniel? Will you let Daniel go?” she inquired.
His gaze lowered to her breasts. He pulled her closer to lick and suck one of her nipples before he could utter a response. “There’s still room for negotiations. Convince me to let Daniel go.”
She smiled.
She brought his face up and kissed him. “I’m a good negotiator.”
