“I don’t want us splitting the upstairs anymore.” He walked into my bedroom and threw the covers back before he crawled in, taking me with him. He yanked the covers over us.

“Okay, then, who’s room would you like to stay in?”

“This one,” he said, holding me against him. “No more division between us. I want us to share the same bedroom.”

I couldn’t help but smile at that. “I like that idea.”

“And I want you to remodel. Make this house feel more like a home.”

“You think it feels like home here?”

Jay nodded. “It’s warm in here. It gives a calming vibe when you come in.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “My goodness, you’ve changed, Jay.”

He cupped my chin. “You’ve changed me, Sam.”

I blushed, staring into his eyes. They were soft, and I didn’t think I could love this man any more than I did.

“Together,” I said, “We can do all of that together.”

Chapter 27 - Jay

I glanced at Sam from across the living room. She was wearing a deep red dress that hugged her tightly. It was a long dress with long sleeves, perfect for the cold weather we were having now. She looked stunning in that outfit, and the baby bump was more prominent now. She was seven months ago and perfectly healthy.

I couldn't help but smile, thinking how she had changed my world so much and filled it with so much joy at the same time. I didn't think it was possible to love someone more each day, but I did.

"Are you still there?" Henrik waved a hand in front of my face, breaking my stare. I looked at him, and he gave me a face. "What?"

"Can you hold a conversation without looking like you're stripping my sister bare in your head."

Aaron spit his drink onto the counter and choked. Frank started patting his back as they all began to laugh.

I scowled. "I was looking at everyone, not just your sister."

Henrik snorted. "No, you weren't. You were staring at my sister."

I rolled my eyes. "Quit acting like she isn't my wife. If I want to stare at her, I can."

Henrik made a face and poured himself a drink. "I need more liquor if I'm going to be stuck watching you lust after my sister all afternoon."

I couldn't help but smirk at him. "You act like I'm going to mount her right on this island."

Henrik took a swig of his drink. "With the way you were staring at her, yes. I could see it happening."

I wanted to be a smartass and tell him I had his sister just last night on the counter and that she was the naughty one of us two. She was frisky, and even more so as the pregnancy went on. She was the one jumping into the shower while I was in it. She was the one pulling her pants down and bending over in front of me, waving her ass.

I took a sip of my drink, looking back at Sam. She was talking to Katie with a hand on her stomach. It sent a spark of happiness through me.

"You've made her happy," Henrik said, looking at her. I could see the concern in his eyes. Ever since the incident in front of Katie's lab, he's been a little more on edge.

"I'm trying," I said. It was something I tried to do every day. I wanted Sam to always stay happy and continue smiling.

"Has she had any more visions?" Frank asked as he leaned onto the counter.

I shook my head. "Her visions have been pretty slim." We didn't know why, but she hadn't had one since that day. A part of me was grateful. I was terrified of her being frozen again. But Sam had been working on her magic and learning ways to get control.

"We should open presents!" Kirk yelled loudly, making all of us turn our attention to the rest of the group. Kirk stood with a present in his hand, waving it in the air.
