Page 29 of Her Bully Alpha

I wondered if they knew what the future held or if they just didn't care. Henrik was old enough to be studying for his Alpha position. And Sam was old enough to be starting school.

"Nice photo, isn't it?" Sam asked as she stopped a few feet from me.

I nodded my head. "Your mother was a very beautiful woman."

Sam softly smiled as she looked at the photo. "She had a natural beauty to her. Not a lot of people saw it."

She held her hand out, showing me the hairpin. It had red rubies on it and was in the shape of a lily. I held the pin in my hand and hoped to feel something, but I didn't. It was just a pin. So, her mother was likely human.

"I told you she was human." She set the pin onto her vanity. "If she was anything else, I would have known. It would have given everyone a reason to shut up about her being nothing but a pathetic human."

I didn't know what to say to that. I didn't know her mother, and I could say that I did. We both knew I would be lying.

I could see the hurt cross her face, and I stepped closer to her. "Your mother wasn't a pathetic human."

She shrugged, biting her lower lip.

I sighed. "So there is nothing then? Just that broken glass? Nothing else that you've done before?"

She remained quiet for a moment before she leaned back slightly on her heels. She rubbed her hands together. "Maybe not…"

I raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you mean?"

She swallowed, looking at me nervously before she looked at me with an unsure expression. "I…have visions."

My eyebrows went up. "What? You what?"

“They are short…just clipped visions…”

This was news. And huge news? How long had that been going on? What did she have visions of? And of who?

"How long have you had those?"

She shrugged. "I don't know….a while, I guess." She walked around me, taking a seat on her bed. She sat tensed up, and I frowned, realizing this must be hard for her.

I softened my words. "I just want to know all the basics, Sam. That's all. I want to help you figure this out because this is huge news. This….this changes so much for you."

She chewed on her lower lip for a moment before she sighed softly. "They are just random. They don't really tell me much."

"Give me one. An example."

She twirled her fingers together. "I had a vision once about a coworker having a baby. It was odd and random, and she'd been feeling sick at work for a few weeks. She didn't even know she was pregnant. I knew before she did."

"Is it always the future?"

She nodded.

"That's useful. So you can see the future."

She shrugged. "I mean, if you don't mind knowing secrets about people."

"What else have you seen?"

She remained quiet for a moment before she looked back at me. "I knew about the letter. I'd seen it a year ago."

My stomach dropped. She knew that this was coming. That we would be here? Did she know we would be forced to marry?

"You knew we would be together?"
