Coming back from the frat party, my eyes kept darting back and forth. After the last two wolf sightings, I was on edge anytime I was outside of my dorm.
As I stumbled my way back, I saw it again. Doing the same thing as always. Staring at the dorm.
But I wasn't going to tempt fate. I freaked out and ran to my dorm room. I didn't give a shit if I woke up Kennedi tonight. I let the door slam as I reached for my pillow. I just wanted to feel safe again.
I focused on taking deep breaths.
I talked to my friends. Wolves never hung out staring at their dorms. Just ours. Unfortunately, I couldn't move out until the end of the school year. So I had to live with the creepy wolves hanging out by the dorm until then.
Chapter 3
Eoghan
Itdidn'ttakelongfor the trade to happen. Hours after I gave Theo my three acceptable trade destinations, the deal was done. I felt bad that the rumor wire was convinced that I would be traded to Colorado, but that wasn't even on my list.
I couldn't decide if it was a good or a bad thing that I got traded to the Vancouver Legacy.
Yes, it was on my list. I put it on there since Logan Peterson's family owned the team and he promised I would be safe on his family's land during the full moon. But I didn't trust the Canadian pack after all the drama that happened last year. They freaking kidnapped another pack member thanks to some sort of spat with Paddy. So even if I was allowed to spend full moons with the local werewolves, I didn't trust them.
The past twenty-four hours were hurry up and wait. I got sent home from practice so I had time to pack up things since it seemed like I would fly out that night only to find out that I couldn't since I needed an updated visa.
Dino and Jayden just left for practice. I should be there with my teammates. Instead, I was looking at my suitcases, trying to figure what I could take with me and what I would leave here.
There was a heavy knock.
I smirked when I realized Logan was here. His scent and knock were so distinctive.
I opened the door. "Don't you have an empire to run?"
Logan was younger than me, but he was in charge of several businesses, and every time I turned around, he was taking on more responsibilities either within the pack or more roles in his family business. I didn't know when he slept. But he was a damn good guy, and I was glad he mated with Mason.
"Yeah, and one of my jobs is to formally welcome you to the Vancouver Legacy." He gave me a brotherly hug.
I snorted. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I much rather be part of the Wild."
Logan chuckled and punched my shoulder. "I know, but you're going to help us get to the Stanley Cup finals. Besides, you're the first player that I convinced my dad to sign."
Just what I needed, more pressure to do good while I was in Vancouver. I can't mess things up. But I didn't realize he liked me enough for me to be his first player to advocate joining his dad's team. Sure, I was one of the guys who proudly wore his dad's hockey brand.
"Thanks."
There was no way Logan was only here to welcome me to the team. His time was too valuable, especially since he was always on the go. Looking at my unpacked suitcases, I really hoped that he wasn't trying to whisk me away.
"Don't tell me that the visa problem is fixed and you're here to take me to Vancouver."
He nodded. "But you don't need to rush. The private jet can take off whenever you're ready. But they want you to join the video sessions tomorrow and get a feel for things."
Chapter 4
Emmy
Idon'tknowwhatIwas thinking about going to Kennedi's party. I'm not exactly friends with my ex-roommate. We're not frenemies or anything like that. We just didn't click and keep a similar schedule.
Yet here I was at her housewarming party after she moved in with her boyfriend, Jayden.
Okay, I was here for two reasons. I wanted my chance to meet a few professional hockey players and to make sure she was safe. While I didn't think she realized it, wolves had been lurking near our place each night ever since she started dating Jayden. I didn't want that to continue to follow her.
